Faith Elizabeth
My mind wouldn't allow me to comprehend what was happening.
My heart was doing acrobatics inside me, my lips fell apart, as I considered all the pros and cons of the situation.
I rubbed my thumb over the back of his hand before taking a deep breath.
As I met his eye I could sense that he was nervous. Not as nervous as I was, but I think he was a little.
I smiled and nodded my head. "Of course" I felt the blush creep onto my face as he nodded with a smile.
"Cool" he nodded.
"It'll have to be soon I'm guessing. With your tour and everything" I said and again he nodded.
"Well we both leave on Sunday so how about tomorrow evening?" He asked and it was my turn to nod.
"Sure" I said, barely managing to get the word out.
"Do you want to go upstairs?" He asked and I nodded.I followed him up to his now familiar room and he handed me some of his clothing to wear as pyjamas.
I went to change in his bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror after I had his clothes on.
My cheeks were red and my makeup partially coming off. I ran my hands through my hair pulling out the newly formed knots.
I couldn't get the school girl smile off of my face.
I was going on a date.
A proper date.
With someone I truly cared for.
And someone I think cared for me too.
I let myself squeal a little, doing a small dance on the cold bathroom tiles.
"You ok in there?" I heard along with a knock on the bathroom door.
"Yes! Yeah I'm ok" I said trying to hide my display of over excitement. "I'm coming out now" I yelled back.I picked up my things and had to hold up the shorts he had given me to stop them falling down.
I swung open the door to find Shawn sat at the end of his bed. I gently placed my clothes on the back of a chair in the corner of his room, keeping a firm grip on the waistband of the shorts.
As I turned back round Shawn was a mere meter infront of me.
"Jesus Christ you made me jump" I giggled with a hint of nervousness.
"Come here" he said and grabbed the strings attached to the shorts.
He pulled them tight and my heart raced. So many scenarios flooded my mind, until it came to my attention that he had tied the strings together in a perfect bow.
His fingers lingered on my hips and I traced my fingertips lightly across his forearms. I heard him take a deep breath in."Better?" He asked standing back a step.
I moved round and did a few little jumps.
"Yeah. Thanks" I said, shyly tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.We sat down facing each other on top of his bed and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop fiddling with my hands and the strings on Shawn's shorts. Each time I took a deep breath, the smell of Shawn made my heart beat faster as it filled my sense of smell.
An excited shiver went down my spine at the thought of us going on a date tomorrow and I couldn't hide it.
"Are you cold?" He asked looking concerned.
"I'm ok" I smiled.
"Here" he said paying no mind to what I had said.
He shrugged off the pink hoodie he was wearing and handed it to me. I slid the material over my body and pulled it down. The sleeves hung over my hands and I curled the ends in my fist.
"Your clothes are so comfy, I swear girls clothes aren't this comfy" I giggled.
"Well I won't be asking to borrow your clothes then"
"I don't think you'd want to" I said."What's your idea of a perfect date?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Why?"
"Because I want to give you a perfect date tomorrow" he said and I could make out a pink tint on his face, although it was faint, it was there
"I don't mind where we go, I don't mind what we do. A perfect date for me would just be calm, somewhere where we could just talk and find out about each other. As long as we got on and the conversation just flows then it would be a good date" I sighed.
"That's beautiful" he smiled and I nodded.
"I'm not materialistic" I smiled back.
"I could tell that about you"
"What's your perfect date then?" I asked, now curious.
"Similar to yours. Just somewhere calm, talking, maybe with a guitar and food" He said and I nodded.
"I guess I know what we're doing tomorrow then"
"We don't have to" he shrugged.
"I want to. I really want to" I said widening my eyes, "was that too eager. It was too eager wasn't it?"
"It wasn't. I feel like it wouldn't be a first date" Shawn said and I raised an eyebrow. "Well I've been round yours before"
"That wasn't a date. I hit you with a bottle" I giggled, remembering the event.
"You've been round mine and the park "
"Not a date. Ok well the park was more of a date"
"But,"
"Nope. Don't count they were just hanging out. Not dates" I shrugged.
"We kissed"
"That seems to be quite a regular occurrence now" I giggled again.
"It doesn't have to be"
"I would like it to be"
"I think I would like that too"
