Faith Elizabeth
"Is this really necessary?"
"It just goes with the style of the dress"
"If I pass out then this is why"
"Everything ok?"

No. It was not ok. I was shitting myself. Shawn's team had been spending the past day and a bit preparing me for this. But I had forgotten everything that they had said. It was as if my whole brain had melted away. The fact that I had spent the past four hours in the same room, with the same four people.
Shawn was next door and they wouldn't let him in, despite my frequent asking for him.
I could tell that it wasn't just myself that was stressed. My whole appearance team was nervous, Shawn was nervous, his team was nervous.
I wasn't only nervous about how I looked, I was nervous about the questions that would be asked, the opinions the comments.

"How does that feel?" Sarah asked as she tied me into the, apparently, necessary corset.
"Am I supposed to be able to breath?" I sighed.
"It's not that tight. You'll live, breathe more into your chest, hang onto Shawn, you'll be fine" she said, fluttering to grab the next part of the costume.

It was amazing. It was a dark pink Victorian style dress, with a high low skirt, a train on the end of it and slightly puffed sleeves, white lace around the hem of the dress.
I had no idea what Shawn was wearing, but I bet it wasn't as complex as this, probably a plain suit.
"Have a look" Sarah said as they finished the last touches on the dress and my makeup.
"Fuck" I breathed, I hardly recognised myself. I had a false tan, perfectly straightened hair, so much makeup on I would need a drill to get it off, and my body was perfectly accentuated in the dress.
"Please don't swear on the carpet." Sarah scolded and I held up my hands.
"I won't. I'm sorry. I'm just nervous"
"You're also going to be late if we don't get you two out there" She fluttered again, her hands flailing around.
She opened the door and I was happy to see daylight again.
"You look absolutely lovely" a woman said and I nodded.
"Thank you."
"I'm Shawn's stylist" she explained and I nodded again. "If you want to follow me, he's waiting outside by the car"

My heart beat fast. My hands got glittered with sweat. My stomach turned. I saw him through the glass door and tried to focus on not falling down the marble steps in my silver heels.
Photographs were being taken as I pushed the door open.
"Shawn" I said and his head flew up.

Shawn Mendes
I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing.
She had always been pretty.
But now, she looked royal.
Unlike anything I had seen.
"Would you mind helping me?" She giggled holding out her hand as she looked helpless at the top of the stairs wobbling around in her heels.
I had to shake my head and come down to earth again and run to help her.
"I-I, You-you just, you look amazing. Unlike anything I've ever seen in my life. You look like true royalty" I breathed wrapping my arm around her waist.
"You're making me blush. I'm so nervous, I can't walk in heels, and I'm wearing a corset" she said holding round my waist.
"You look beautiful" I breathed again and she pouted, giving my cheek a small kiss.
We started walking down the stairs to the frequent sound of camera clicks.

I held her tight and helped her into the car.
"You look stunning. Absolutely amazing."
"And you look as handsome as ever"
"I'm shitting myself. Honestly I'm so scared. What if they don't let me in?" Faith panicked and I held her hand in mine.
"The organisation know you're coming. They'll let you in don't worry. And you look beautiful there's no reason to panic. I'll hold you every step of the way"

Faith Elizabeth
"Ready?" He asked as we pulled up.
"As long as you promise to not leave me" I breathed and he squeezed my shaking hand.
"I'm not leaving you. I promise" he said and stepped out of the car, running to my side, helping me out slowly.
"Bloody hell" I gasped looking up at the venue, and everyone stood on the carpet.
"Let's go" Shawn smiled wrapping a tight arm around my waist.

"Do I look ok?" I asked quickly just before we stepped onto the glimmering red carpet.
Shawn looked deep into my eyes, seeing my panic.
He cupped my face and quickly pressed a sweet, lingering kiss to my mouth.
A tingling sensation went down my body and as we pulled away, looking into each other's eyes, I knew that he was the one I wanted to be with.
I knew I wanted to be able to call him my boyfriend.
But didn't want to get over my head. As always.
I nodded as he winked and we stepped into the cameras firing line.

"Just pose and hold onto me, this isn't the talking bit yet" Shawn laughed and I smiled holding onto his shoulder, his arm keeping a firm hold on my waist.
The flashes were blinding and each time a celebrity passed I thought I would pass out. Then again I couldn't tell if that was from the nerves or the corset.
Shawn helped me as we walked up the stairs and for a brief moment let go of me.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he walked round to the back of me.
I looked round as he started to straighten out my dress, walking round it so he didn't step on it.
"Aw Shawn" I giggled as he joined my side again.
"It's how you should be treated. Like a princess" he smiled.
"I honestly could just kiss you right here right now" I breathed, trying to say it under my breath.
I caught him smile and shake his head lightly.
"Well there's a toilet if you want to-"
He laughed but I hit his chest before he could finish, both of us giggling.
"Later" I said raising my eyebrow, causing us to laugh more.
We tried to calm ourselves down, behaving for the cameras.

As we got into the interview section of the evening I was the most nervous I had ever been.
A woman waved us over and we walked slowly to get to her.
"Can I just start by saying, wow, wow, wow! You guys look absolutely amazing!"
"Thank you" I smiled and Shawn squeezed my waist.
"So Faith, Im going to assume this is your first big event. So what's it like being here with Shawn?"
"Oh, it's amazing. I'm absolutely blown away by all of this here. And I mean Shawn, what can I say, he's amazing" I said turning to look at him briefly.
"How's she doing Shawn?" She asked and I couldn't help but run my hands down my dress.
"So well. It's so overwhelming but she's not shown it so, and she looks beautiful" he said and I wrapped my arm around him.
"Am I sensing couple here?" She asked and I giggled to mask my blushing.
"No we're not a couple" he said quickly, making my heart fall.
"Maybe in the future?"
"Watch this space" he smiled before we said our goodbyes and walked on, my heart leaped and I wished I could see what he was thinking.

"What was that?" I asked him as we walked into the corner of a large display room.
"What was what?" He said looking round, seeing no one was around.
"Watch this space?" I said raising my eyebrow. He shrugged and I was glad it was dark so he couldn't see my fallen expression.
"Can I be honest with you?" He asked and I nodded. "I'm scared. I'm scared to ask, I'm scared to be something. I don't want to become something then have to leave you to travel the world, i don't want to leave you, I'm not ready to do that to you. And we haven't really spoken about it. At all. So I think we need that chat" he breathed and I felt slightly overwhelmed by his words.
"I understand." I said briefly, feeling a lump in my throat.
Again he cupped my face and brought his lips onto mine. I ran my hands through the back of his hair as our lips moved slowly. His hands roaming my corseted waist.
"I really think we should have that chat. Soon" he said pulling away, taking my hand, leading back to where everyone was sat round for the most extravagant night of their lives.
But all I could think about is what I would say when we talked.
