Chapter 16: Bounce Back

Justin's POV:

After Abby left, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how to act like my old self. It's been so long. We've been together for six years. Now I don't know what's it's like to be single and have fun. But I'll figure it out. My main focus is on Angel. I plan on asking her out this weekend and giving her the McDonald's Grey messes up. I walked around looking for her but instead I found Kacey and Mike. "Hey guys. Y'all seen Angel?" I asked. "Yep. She's down there talking to Abby." Mike said. I walked up to the window and see Angel and Abby talking. What are they talking about? "Any idea why Angel y'all to her? She hates her." Kacey said. "I don't know. Angel just followed her out there." Mike said. "What for?" I asked. "Beats me." She said. We heard footsteps and turned around to see Colin.

"Hey man." I said. "Yo. Y'all seen Angel?" He asked. "Yeah she's outside talking to Abby." Mike said. "Abby? I thought they don't get along?" He asked. "They don't. Maybe they're coming to a mutual understanding." I said. They all gave me a look. I scratched my head. "Yeah I think I just lied to myself." I said. "Yeah ya did." Mike said. "Well Angel's coming back up." Kacey said. "Good." Colin said, as he walked away. "Wait why is that good?" I asked. "Nothing. I was making sure she was coming up. Annie said she had some words for Angel about what to do with her powers." He said, then walked out. I stared after him. "I don't trust him around Angel." I said. "Why not?" Kacey asked. "Dude he's a Incubus. He can easily slip in her panties if he wanted." Mike said.

"He's right. That's why I don't trust him." I said. "Dude come on. Do you really think Angel would give him the time of day?" Kacey asked, as she asked towards the Train room. We followed her. We walked in the see Colin asked Angel out. He then kissed her. She didn't even stop it. The sight of the kiss broke my heart. I felt broken. "You were saying Kacey?" Mike said. They looked over at us. I stormed out the room to be by myself. Angel followed me and that made things worse. I walked back into the room and kissed Kacey, telling her we were going out now. After that, I left and went home. Alison greeted me and I responded back in a harsh tone. I heard she sniffle on the way up the stairs. I apologized to her. I shouldn't take my anger out on her. She did nothing wrong.

I ran upstairs to my room. Otis came up to talk to me. He wanted to know some things about girls since he the day he found of Tasha was his mate. He wanted some ideas on how to take her out on a date. I gave him some answers and told him to leave. I took off my shirt and put on sweatpants and laid down, hoping to fall asleep soon. That didn't work. I got on my phone and got on Instagram. I saw that Abby had tagged me in a post. It was of her boarding a plane. She tagged everyone but Angel in it. She even tagged Trey. I'm surprised, considering he doesn't like her. She was with her Mom and Dad. Her stomach poked out a bit. Damon what if  that is my baby? I'd feel bad letting her go like this.

Dude stop. Your gonna bounce back from this. Now stop worrying bout that girl and worry about Angel. As if on cue, I smelled vanilla. I got up and looked around. I saw her sitting in the middle of the hallway. I called her phone and she picked up. She punched holes in the wall because I wouldn't open up to her. I picked her up  and put her in a room. It wasn't mine but it's one of the rooms I sleep in sometimes. Especially when it's thundering. I'm terrified of thunderstorms. Especially lightning. We ended up talking about what I was mad about. Then she got her mate rings. I was her mate. I was super excited but curious as to how she felt about it. She didn't go into detail about it.

I ended up telling her about her clothing I took that night Grey attacked her. I didn't exactly spill my guts about how in love I was with her but I hinted at it, hoping she'll say how she felt about me. She didn't expand on the subject so I thought she didn't wanna talk about it. She got up to leave. She said she was gonna train and use her powers the rest of the day til nightfall. I went back to my room and laid down. It calmed me a bit knowing we were back on good terms but her not telling me how she felt really bothered me. Does she not like me? Why would she? She's a Uni-Hybrid. Your just a dragon. Dragons are incredible thank you. Plus, she's now one herself. I got up and walked downstairs to see my family sitting in the living room. "Justin can you come here please?" Mom asked. I heard venom in her voice.
