A Volatile Relationship

Lana

"Levi!" my voice screeched, but I didn't care when I pushed myself up and ran toward him. My arms locked around his neck and he immediately clung onto me. His sweet cologne filled my senses as I buried my face in his jacket. When I raised my head, he looked down at me, stunned. "What?"

"Y-You're walking...scratch that, you're running!" Levi's eyes widened, and he picked me up, and we spun around laughing. When I landed on the ground, I looked up once again, only to realize that the smile hadn't left his face. I cocked a brow and the corner of his mouth tugged further, "It's just I didn't expect you to be like this so soon—I didn't think I'd see you like this again."

I knew what he meant physically, I looked great compared to the past year, but I didn't know mentally. Either way, my cheeks began to hurt from all the smiling, just at the sight of him. Levi's gaze traveled down to fully take me in. His hands glided down my bare arms, and I shivered against his touch. That familiar feeling of his hands on me again.

"Why are you out here and aren't you getting cold?" that second question wasn't necessary because he pulled off his bomber jacket and flung it over my shoulders.

"My jacket is inside."

"You didn't answer my first question..."

"Doesn't matter. What are you doing here?" I looked around to avoid eye contact. "How did you get here?"

"I came to see you of course." Levi approached me again and wrapped his arms loosely around my hips. "I drove here."

"You drove here? Why? Christmas is soon, I was coming home."

"I just wanted to see you." He mumbled and took my hand and caressed it against his cheek. My eyebrows rose when Levi kissed the palm of my hand. Those reflective blue eyes gazed at me the longer his soft lips lingered on my hand. "I missed you, princess."

I almost fell into his trap and said the same thing, but then I remembered when I said he should visit. Levi said he wanted to save money because of the project he's working on with Keene. He didn't fly over, but it still took gas and food money. Levi must've noticed my perplexed look when he sighed and squeezed my hand before he murmured, "I also came to check up on you...because of what happened with Parker."

"Oh." I let my hands fall to my sides then pulled his jacket closer as the wind blew. "Well, I'm fine."

"Cut the sh*t, no one's fine from that. You're not fine." He whispered then cupped my cheeks, so I was forced to look at him. "And that's okay. I'm here now. Do you wanna talk about it?"

"No, can we just go back to my dorm?" I stepped back but attempted to drag him away from the mansion that still chimed from its mini-orchestra. Levi paused and turned to the mansion with a raised eyebrow.

"Wait, what about the fancy party? When I heard of it, I knew it'd be the highlight of the night." I froze and looked over my shoulder where he still drooled over some of the cars that were parked. Levi turned to me and sheepishly smiled, "And you of course."

"Fine, we'll go in only because I'm curious as to how you know about this party," I said and pulled his jacket off me since I had the opportunity to get mine. We walked toward the doorman, and I fished out my invitation once again. He eyed Levi inquisitively, especially his attire. Levi did wear black and white but casual not formal. The doorman didn't say anything, and I took it as a yes and pulled Levi inside before he noticed.
