Chapter 27 : Misteryosong Liham

Ngayong dumating na ang lunes, wala na naman si Lapawan at si Budoy dito sa mangga dahil sa mga sarili nilang mga dahilan. Si Budoy ay pumunta sa Biringan at si Lapawan naman ay sumama sakanya. Wala din dito si mommy kaya mag-isa ako.

Today is monday, tomorrow will be tuesday and it means tomorrow will be the last day of Cain in this school because it will already be their Christmas vacation this Wednesday. And it means, I'm not going to see him again, and it will be very helpful inorder for me to move on.

But boy I'm wrong.

In the mirror is Cain, his back on the tree, he is silently squatting while holding a pen in his hand, twirling it like minorate batons. I don't know why he's always present when the other creatures are not around, when it's only me in this mango tree!

Gusto niya akong solohin? Oh, stop thinking about that Jarred! Pinapahalata mo lang! Dapat mo na siyang kalimutan!

I go out of the mango tree to face him. And gosh I don't even know what to say! I have just decided to go out and that's all, since it's yet early in the morning and there is not yet a single student except him.

I should hate him right? I should forget him right? But maybe I have to face him today, ask him about everything today before I will end it up. Clarify why he's always here in this mango tree disturbing me and why he is acting like he doesn't know me.

Bigla siyang ngumisi nang nakita niya ako. Kahit na hindi siya nakatingin sa ballpen niya ay napaikot niya parin ito ng mabilis. Hindi naman siya tumayo at ako lang ang lumapit sakanya.

I don't even know why he's so happy right now.

"Bakit ka nandito?" maldita kong tanong. Ngiti lamang ang sagot niya.

"Wala, nagpapahangin lang." astig niyang sagot. "Ano pa bang maaari kong gawin dito."

"Sinungaling!" I screamed, "Hindi ako naniniwala sayo!" I don't even know why I have to shout like crazy. Gosh, what happened to you, Jarred?

"Kung sasabihin ko bang dahil sayo, maniniwala ka ba?" inangat niya pa ang kilay niya.

"Ang sabi mo sakin, ayaw mo sa diwata."

"Uh-huh." he said.

"Pero isa akong diwata!" I screamed again. Why is he such a liar? Why does he have to act like this? What's up in his crazy jerky brain?

"Pano mo nasabi?" he said. "Kung ikaw ay isa talagang diwata, isang palaka na sana ako ngayon."

Hindi naman ako nakaimik. Ano bang isasagot ko sakanya?

Kinakabahan na ang puso ko ngayon dahil sa sinasabi niya. Baka sa susunod sasabihin niya na saking ako talaga yung babae sa likod ng mga facebook updates niya. Yuck, ang assuming mo, Jarred, I thought you're supposed to hate him?

He suddenly stand up and slowly walk towards me, still not removing his dark eyes from me. I don't know what's in him. He is way too fierce, too hot, too off limits.

"Sige nga, gawin mo nga akong isang palaka." paghahamon niya sakin. Ano bang gagawin ko? Papagalitan ko na ba siya dahil sa pagpapanggap niya? Aamin na ba ako? Siya ang may dapat aminin!

We are just looking at each other for maybe a minute or two until a girl wearing their official uniform appeared and tried to poke Cain.

She is smiling like crazy but her smile faded when she saw me. She look at me from top to toe and I know that she's wondering why on earth am I wearing this kind of dress. But I don't care.
