Colby and I have been sat talking for about 20 minutes and so far so good. We talked about his dads job and the friends he has acquired that are lowkey criminals. But Colby moving to LA means he won't be affected by them as much anymore. I found out his brother wants to attend UCLA next year. "So my mum walked out on us when I was about 6." He pauses, looking into the distance. "That was one of the biggest things that affected my father. He has a short temper so..He used to take it out on her." He looks back at me, I reach over, placing a hand on his.

"So she just left." He shrugs, I nod. "Did you ever truly forgive him?" I ask and he scoffs, "He had no choice but to raise us. But I never followed his rules. He wouldn't dare lift a finger to me or my brother." I nod, giving him a sympathetic smile.

Colby really has confused me within the last week. I still have many classes and time with him and within LA, but I do believe that my whole experience here has been squished into one week and it's very overwhelming. But being sat here in a gorgeous spot and listening to his life story has really opened my eyes to the possibility of a future in LA, even if Colby isn't apart of it. I know my goal here is to help as many people I can to overcome their demons, even if I feel like I can't. Suddenly my urge to finish my course and move back to Phoenix has started to drift.

"Aliyah?" Colby asks with a smile, I look back at him. "Sorry, you were saying?" I smile.

"Okay." He continues. "Sam and I are best friends, we met in high school and hit it off from there. We've always been by each other's side and that's the way I want it to stay. We were very lucky to get into the same college." I nod, "Jake was someone that used to be around, him being the year below us in High School, we used to invite him places" he takes a pause. "Like to the mall or whatever. But he started expecting us to invite him all the time you know? And me and Sam weren't really used to the company." "Yeah, you guys are pretty close." He laughs quietly.

"Yeah, I trust him." I smile, "But Yeah, I got involved with the wrong people and Jake tried to follow. It just ended badly" His face looks worried so I shake my head, "You don't need to tell me." He relaxes his shoulders, "One day." He smiles, I remove my hand from his as he continues speaking. I really enjoy listening to him, he's very passionate. He tells me about his love for music and how studying to become a Lawyer is starting to not interest him so he got the job at the shack to make some extra cash for the time being until he can put more time into his studies.

We talk a little about our plans for the rest of the day as we walk back to the car. "Does your mum not answer her phone a lot?" Colby asks as I climb into the passenger seat of his car. I shake my head, "No, it was weird to be honest. Usually you can't get my dad off the phone either but not today." I look out the window as he drives from the Hollywood sign.

"I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." He reassures me which is nice.

Colby takes me back to the dorms so I can grab my bag before I head off to class. It was good to be able to have a chat today with Colby where we weren't coming at each other's throats, but I definitely think he needs to work on his temper.

"You really got him to be your client again?" Jake mutters as we watch the screen in the lecture hall. Professor Welsh has decided we should watch more therapy sessions today, they're interesting but it just reminds me of my weekends at home. "Well yea.." I shrug, I see him slouch slightly to my side. "That's good." He finally comments after silence.

"Me and Lacey broke up." He says, I frown, looking at him. "What?" He looks at me, I can tell he was acting a little off when I came into class today. But after what Kat told us yesterday, it was a long time coming.

"Yeah. I guess it's for the best." He shrugs and I nod, continuing to indulge into the screen.

Class goes by slowly and I find myself feeling drowsy by the time we finish, "If you need me to chat you know where I am." I remind Jake as we separate ways. I think today is the day I might actually hit the gym after class. I giggle to myself as I head back to my dorms to change, I really have given up on so many plans huh.

"Hey." I mumble as I enter the dorm, closing the door behind me I look at Rose who is staring out the window, "You're not going to believe what I just heard about Brennen Taylor." She stands to her feet and I frown.
