I felt like a land girl, full of vanity and selfishness. Not because of who i was but because of how i had acted, i was selfish for not being on task and finding the other tablet pieces. I kept staring at myself, most mermaids were full of vanity, attracted to theirselves at the instant sight of a single mirror. But i went back into the room and got changed bringing my clothes with me.

Nixie and Addison then went in to the room, when they came out Addison was dressed in yellow and gold, the colour of a citrine. Then nixie came out all in black, a small fitted top, a small skirt and black shoes. It was her signature colour, how blue was mine, gold for Addison and so on. To us it was seen as a sign of respect to our famililes.

To Zach, it meant nothing. Thats how i wanted to be towards him, nothing.

"So guys, give me your clothes i will go pay for them. Then we can head back to my place, sit down and have some food" Celeste told us.

"Could we head to the Ocean Cafe?" Echo pleaded.

"If its to see Ethan, yet we will go. Let her flirt for half an hour"

The night came quicker than we had intened, we were ordered by Celeste to start getting ready by 5pm. We had plenty of time and were stuffing our faces with shrimps, "Come on merls. We need to start getting ready and i am not prepared to leave you guys to do your makeup by yourselves" Celeste said.

"Whats makeup?" Maya asked.

"Its this stuff, that girls wear on their face. Boosts their confidence, well thats what the sluts say. They cant live without the stuff yet i hardly wear it, only mascara and lipgloss" She told us.

Celeste got us up and we trailed after her to her room, blue and white. The small exotic fish swam in their glass tank happily, each outfit was layed out carefully with many land girls accessories that also merls had like seashell necklaces.

"Now go get changed, i will go your makeup and hair!" She ordered.

Sometimes i truely believed Celeste cold become an army leader some day.

Zach waited in the hallway for us while we trailed down the stairs one by one. "Hi Zach" I said walking down the steps. He smiled and said to have the girls back by 12pm. Aunt Rosa agreed, i smiled and then we were out of the door one by one, Zach walked close to me out hands nearly touching.

"Lyla, you look amazing tonight" complimented Zach, i raised my eyebrows "You do honestly, you will be the prettiest girl at the party. No questions asked"

I laughed "Oh Zach, you do have a way with words dont you now?"

He smiled and put his arm around my waist, we walked like that for about 15 minutes before we reached a very loud house. All of the lights were on, music i did not recognise pounded and i could hear my heart beat coming from my chest. "Just be casual and let me do all of the talking with Shayla" Zach told us, he moved his arm from my waist and knocked on the door.
