*Arizona*
I was sad, I was angry, but most of all I was worried. I was overprotective because I know that somehow Robert it out there waiting for the perfect chance to get Callie and I just let her go.
It's been about an hour since Callie left and she promised she would be back but I couldn't stop waiting now. I ended up crying myself so sleep and only getting about 4 hours of it before Mark came and let himself in.
"Robbins! Robbins you gotta get up it's important!" He frantically shakes me.
"If it doesn't involve Callie, Ava, or Sofia then leave me alone." I turned the other way.
"It's Callie, it was a hit and run we have to go to the hospital NOW!"
I jumped up when I heard Callie's name. All I had on were shorts and a tank top so Mark gave me his sweatshirt and we were out the door in .3 seconds.
at the hospital
"Where is she!" I ran up to the closest trauma surgeon I could find, Owen.
"Who?"
"Callie!" Mark and I yell in union.
He checked the computer and tells us that she's in surgery.
Mark and I waited in the waiting room but Mark couldn't sit down. He was walking in circles which was secretly driving me crazy but my mind was too focused on Callie to tell him to stop.
Teddy walks in and wraps her arms around me and I immediately broke down.
"I think it was Robert." I whisper.
"What?"
"He say us at Disneyland and made a comment about her when I dropped off Ava."
"Oh god, you need to talk to your lawyer or the police, have you called Callie's parents?"
"She doesn't speak to them, I can call her Aunt though."
Where was I going to get her number? Emergency contacts maybe. I. went to the front desk and surprisingly her Aunt was listed there, along with Mark and I.
I dialed her number hoping she would answer.
"Hello?"
"Hi, are you Ms.Valiente?"
"Who's asking?" She sounded a lot like Callie.
"Well, my name is Arizona Robbins and I'm your niece's girlfriend." How else was I supposed to start the conversation?
"You're the girl Callie always talks about, what's wrong?"
"Um I don't know how to say this but Callie has been in a car accident and she's in surgery now." Lexie had now came in to comfort Mark.
"Oh my god, I'll be right over, it's the hospital she works at right?"
"Yes, tell them who you are and come to the waiting room."
With that she hung up. More people started to come in and now it was Lexie, Amelia, Derek, Meredith, and Maggie.
April, Owen, Richard, and Bailey were all in the surgery helping Callie. I wanted to watch it. Then it hit me. Sofia and Ava.
"Where's Sofia?" I ask.
"Dropped her off at the daycare before I came over here."
I ran out the door and towards the daycare when I saw Sofia in the corner away from the few kids that were still here.
I walked up to the and scooped her into my arms.
"How's Mama?" She asks.
"I wish I could tell you but we don't know, she's going up to be fixed now, do you want to wait with us somewhere else or stay in here?"
"Can I go with you Mommy?"
"Of course."
I picked Sofia up and we headed to the waiting room, I went to sit Sofia down but she wouldn't move from her resting spot in arms.
Robert wasn't going to talk with Ava around. I had to find a way to get her back.
I got back with everyone else and an older Latin woman is talking to Mark. That must be her Aunt.
I give Sofia to Mark and introduce myself in person. She comes up and hugs me before I can say anything.
"It's nice to finally meet you in person." I say as she lets me go.
"You too, I'm sorry this had to happen to you, Callie is a very strong person and she will get through this." She gives me a genuine smile despite her sadness.
"Thank you."
I was never one to believe that there was a god above us but right now I needed to pray, pray for Callie and hope that everything will be alright.
"Family of Torres?" Richard comes out. He looked sad. Please tell me it's not what I think it is.
We all stood up and walked towards him.
"How is she?" I ask.
"The surgery went well, but Callie is in a medically induced coma to help with the recovery of her injuries. It should be no longer than two weeks before she wakes up, survival rates are extremely high so we aren't worried that she won't wake up, she's in good hands and she's our fighter."
"What room is she in?" Her Aunt asks.
"C293, only a few at a time though." She was in ICU meaning Sofia and Ava couldn't see her.
I told them that I wanted to go last and alone so her Aunt went first and everyone else followed.
She's our fighter, she's my fighter, my girl.
I fidgeted with the necklace she gave me and looked through pictures I had of us on my phone. I couldn't lose her. We haven't even had the chance to say I love you and I haven't got the chance to ask her to marry me yet.
"It's your turn Robbins." Mark says.
I was scared to go in there. I was scared to see my Callie plugged into all of those machines. I had to face my fears in case this was the last time I saw her.
Walking into the hospital room I was my girlfriend with IV's sticking from all over her body. Her head was wrapped in a bandage and she had scars and blood all over her arms.
I pulled up and chair and sat to her right grabbing her hand.
"I am so sorry this had to happen to you, if I could trade places with you I would. I didn't want you to leave because I saw Robert at Disneyland, I'm so sorry Callie." I broke down into tears.
Why her? Why couldn't he just come for me instead of the person I love the most in this cruel world.
"I love you Calliope, I've never said it but I truly love you. We've had our ups and downs but this time I promise you I'm not leaving, I don't want you ask more from you than to just stay alive. I need you Callie, Sofia needs you, Ava needs you, Mark needs you, your Aunt needs you, who I love by the way." I kissed her hand and put my head down.
For a good 5 minutes I stared at the monitors. Her heart was still moving and she was still breathing. I was very grateful for that.
Then her Aunt came in. "I know you wanted your alone time but I really need to talk to you."
"I just finished, I'm sorry we had to meet in such an unfortunate situation."
"Do you love her?" She gets straight to the point.
"Yes."
"Have you told her yet?"
"No, well I just did and that was the first time and I really regret waiting until this moment." I looked over at how peaceful she looked.
"Marry her."
"What?" I looked at how serious she was.
"When she wakes up, ask her to marry you."
Marriage? Was it too soon?
