*Callie*

My legs were weak. I knew I needed physical therapy but I didn't know how to admit it. If I was going to get help I needed to ask for it right?

"Our physical therapist Dr. Porter will be in here shortly to come and speak to you." Owen says.

Porter. That name was familiar. Who did I know who's last name started with Porter.

"Callie Torres?" The doctor calls out. That voice. A voice I haven't heard in years.

"Abigail?" No. No no and no. This couldn't happen. The memories would all come back. I can't go back to the same dark place that I used to be in.

"Callie, um hi. I guess I'm your physical therapist." She says awkwardly.

I could tell Mark was giving her the death glare. I've known him since high school and he knows everything.

"It's good to see you again Mark." She smiles at him and he gives her a fake smile.

"So this paper here is just a bunch of information about what I do and what we will be doing together. Everyone's healing time is different so don't think this will take forever but also don't think it will be a week."

I lost track after that. Her words didn't quite process through. I was too busy focusing on her features. She had dyed her black hair blond, and her black roots were very visible. I liked the look. Her eyes were the same shade of blue they were in high school. Those were the eyes I feel in love with.

No. I couldn't fall back into that same rabbit hole that got me put out the house.

"Do you have any questions?" She snaps me back into reality.

"Do you work here at the hospital or did you come here just for me?"

"Actually I was told about your case and they flew me over here and now I'm here." She smiles. How could someone smile that much?

"So where were you before Seattle?" I ask.

She takes a seat knowing we are about to have a full conversation. "After I got my degree I moved all around helping out in any hospital that I could."

She never stayed in one place. Always up and moving. "Are you here to stay?" I ask.

"I think this should be a while so I'll stay."

Then she leaves.

"Callie, what was that?" Mark asks.

"I felt like I was in high school again."

"Well you're not. You're a grown woman with a family to take care of so stop flirting with her." He demands.

"Nobody was flirting!"

"Just be careful Torres, you have Ava, Sofia, and Robbins who all love you, don't throw it away on someone who put you through hell."

Then he left and now I was alone.

flashback

"Calliope come on, it's going to be fun!" Abigail calls out from the lake. She insisted on us going skinny dipping.

My parents were on a trip this weekend so I'm staying with Abigail and her family.

"The water looks like it's freezing." I reply. We were both only in our shorts and tank tops and Abigail brought two of her sweatshirts.

"I'll take you out for ice cream if you jump in with me." She persuades, she knew how much I love ice cream.

Fine. I just rolled my eyes and jumped in. It was the springtime and the weather was hot but not too hot just yet.

"This water isn't as cold as I thought it would be." I say surprised.

"I told you it wasn't." Abigail comes from behind me and wraps her arms around me.

We stayed like that for awhile, swimming in synchronized circles before I broke the silence. "Abi?"

"Yes?"

"So what are we?"

"I have no clue Calliope but I like whatever we have."

end of flashback

I couldn't sleep, per usual. My mind was filled with all different kinds of thoughts and people. I felt like I was being pulled back into my high school years again.

I looked over at the clock and saw it was 12:35.

flashback (again ik but it's 684 without it)

Today was the day that Arizona was going to meet some of my friends from out of town. Even though we aren't dating I made the mistake of telling them that we are dating so now I have to explain that to her.

"Zona?" I ask looking at the road.

She hums in response.

"I may or may not have accidentally told my friends that we're dating."

Her eyes grew wide. "So we have to fake date for tonight?" She raised her eyebrow.

"Just for tonight, are you not mad?"

"Nope, I wanna see how this all plays out." She smirks.

What have I gotten myself into?

at the restaurant/bar

"Callie! It's so nice to see you again." Isabella pulls me into a hug.

"Stop hogging her!" Rey says pulling her off of me and then hugging me.

"Izzy, Rey, this is Arizona, my girlfriend." It felt so nice to say that even if I didn't mean it.

"It's nice to meet the both of you." She goes to shake their hand but they hug her instead.

We sat down and Arizona immediately rested her hand on my thigh. Where was she going with this?

"So how'd you two meet?" Rey asks.

"I was new to the hospital and Callie showed me around and made me feel like I was at home." She smiles.

Wait did she really mean that? I made her feel at home?

"You don't have anything to say back to that Callie?" Izzy grins.

"I um...meeting Arizona has been the highlight of my entire year." I was only stuttering because Arizona kept moving her hand further and further up.

"That's so sweet, now kiss her." Izzy says.

It's not gonna be like it's our first time. I grabbed her face with both of my hands and kissed her soft lips. This was something I could get used to.

Rey dramatically cleared her throat.

We continued catching up and I could tell Izzy and Rey were falling in love with each other all over again. They had some troubles in the past because Izzy had cheated and it took Rey a long time to forgive her but now their love for each other was very visible.

"I'm getting used to this fake dating thing." Arizona whispers in my ear in a husky voice.

That alone sent chills down my spine.
