JUDITH's POV
Parties? Birthday Parties are what I enjoy. The joy of buying presents, remembering the persons' likes and dislikes, the beautiful smile shaping their face, and the satisfaction of buying that gift she loves.
But this time it's different, totally different than the whole definition of birthday to me. The party I'm forced to attend is someone's I just met. It's weird because I'm totally the shy type. And being invited to a filthy teenage party is what I hate. It's true about the old saying you hate things you don't understand'. I've never been there before maybe that is the reason for such enmity or a wild imagination that the place would be infected with sin.
"Don't worry Judi, we will just wish her, and we are out of that place," Hannah assures, she sat beside me on the driver's seat the belt neatly strapped across her.
I nod still not satisfied.
Hannah Wilson, my only best friend. The type of a girl who would be loved from the very instant. She is intelligent, friendly, and a pious Christian. She chooses me from all the best people in school, just because I'm a Christian like her.
A beautiful white dress rested on her perfect physic, exposing her bare arms and ankles. She pulls the car on the driveway, picking our presents and we enter into the monster house. The music grows louder and the crowd grows denser as we move inside. Everyone holding glasses of some dark liquid as they sway to the dead beat awakening their soul. After a couple of minutes, Hannah finds the Birthday girl on the couch seated on a man into liquids.
"Nadia!!" Hannah yells across the high music. She recognizing us through the varied lights, pulling Hannah into an embrace.
"Hannah, I'm so happy you made it". The liquid stunk through her too.
"Happy Birthday!"Hannah offers the gift.
"For me..........Aww". Nadia coos.
"Happy Birthday Nadia". I repeat.
She turns so quickly to my side pushing a glass of the liquid on my brown dress.
The people on the couch burst out laughing.
"Hey, the washroom is upstairs".Nadia informs after the long laughter.
I dab a couple of wet tissues on the wine-stained dress, which seems hopelessly clinging to my dress.
A couple pushes past the washroom, making outright under my nose. I rush out of the place, my mind invaded by the scene I just saw.
Hannah seems missing from the place I last saw and so was Nadia. I swam past the worldly crowd, trying to find an angel across this hell. Finally, I spot her at the corner of the dance floor, speaking innocently to a guy who faced his back to me. He held her hand forcing her into the dance floor, in spite of her disapproval. I rush towards her, rip his grip off from her and drag her out from this dreadful place.
I'm glad I'm overweight.
After we fled from the scene, Hannah parked her car on my driveway as we both unusually laugh for our own reason.
"Thanks, Judi you saved me".
"I'm glad I did".
We head home quietly and I slip into my night suite, praying for all the people back there as I sleep in peace.
