JUDITH's POV;
We were seated individually for our class test, Mr. Smith forcibly instructed Luke to occupy the first row making me shift to the third deck. The class fell into deep silence, making Mr. Smith's footsteps vibrate through the thin air. The questions in the previous chapter seemed hard as usual making me twist my brain cells. Luke's hunched figure was all I could see. I completed my test ten minutes before time, this created way to eye Luke. The pen never seemed to leave the page, the scribbling fastened as the time closed by. Mr. Smith strangely watched him while he collected the answer scripts.
"Huh! He wrote so much."A female voice sighed behind me. I packed my stuff and rushed out to my locker.
I could feel someone catching up with me so I turned to find him, when by side he offers that genuine smile that contagiously infects me.
"Join me for lunch."He offers.
Lunch with him? and his stupid football mates! NO! I slowly take a step back and run just in case he chased.
I was terribly hungry, I couldn't bear the fearful noises my stomach made. I quickly picked up my food and occupied my lonely seat. After grace, I gobbled the food so fast for the very first time! just then someone smashed their plate in front of me. 'Is he gonna punish me? or gonna treat me like that guy. But he did the unexpected..................
He laughed, laughed, and laughed.
His blue eyes leaked with tears, he held his stomach in his arms as he gasped for air. He paused to control himself but as soon as his eyes fell on me he laughed. I looked around to find people laughing the same way. Did they inhale laughing gas? The whole cafeteria is laughing now. What was surprising was that I didn't feel ashamed, probably thick skin. But at least for once, people are laughing their lungs out for a better reason, rather than gossips and bullies. They are laughing because of me, that something that never happens. I smiled making people laugh more, even rolling on the floor. Then I picked my tissue and wiped my face to see a thick layer of cream, jam, and sauce(that was all I could recognize). When did this come on my face?
Then everyone pulled themselves together, breathing heavily and wiping their tears, and few still recalling my face. Everyone giving me that warmth. satisfying look and some even saying, "Nice one dude", "It's been a decade since I laughed this much". I was so happy that I spread joy and cheer around these heavy-mood-swing-teenagers.
