The Guy Through My Window

CHAPTER 22

The green matted grass lies evenly on the wet soil of my lawn. The square-shaped lawn has all corners scraped with bare soil holding rose and lily plants. My father loves to garden and my mother loves roses. Lilies? I don't know why they are even there?

Right at the center is a tall tower housing a birdbath. Yeah, my idea. Why? I love animals! It doesn't mean I hate plants, but love the harmony of nature and would always wanna preserve it. 

"Honey, you bake the best cakes!" Mom appreciates as she licks her lips and dad nods agreeing with her. 

"Thanks, mom dad." I grin.

I carry my plate to my room liking the chocolate which sat on my fingertips. I open the door to find Luke sitting on my chair staring at my laptop.

"When did......."

"Password please?" He interrupts

"Why?" I argue.

He never answers instead he grabs my plate swallowing my cake.I stare at him blankly and sit down opening the password. He withdraws the laptop from me and fixes a pen drive opening a file after a while. He snuggles into my bed without a second thought placing the laptop on his lap. Realizing I'm not beside him he looks up at me saying," Hop in."

I crawl to the other side making sure there is a huge wall between us. 

It's a movie with the title, 'Love is an open door.' Eee-huu! a romantic movie.

He glances at me exclaiming"What? You look like you stamped dung."

"Aaah.......I don't watch such things." I say, still holding that mask of disgust.

He watched me with his left eye raised, "Watch it will you?" 

I silently prayed not to see any dirty scenes.

The movie was interesting, I liked how it turned hilarious. There were scenes I thought were bad but he fast-forwarded it. In one scene the woman and the man stared at each other just like Luke explained how Hannah locked her gaze with his. 

"I hope you understood the movie." He asked closing the laptop. I nod remembering the scene.

"So who is Brian?" He asked out of nowhere.

"Brian...He is Nadia's cousin."I respond, "How do you know Nadia?"

"She is Zedd's girlfriend." 

"Zedd your best buddy?" Now I can connect the dots.

"Tell me more about this Brian." Luke insisted.

"Hannah and Nadia's parents are good friends from work. Hannah spent most of her summer in Nadia's farmhouse, that time Brian started developing feelings for her. But the feeling was not mutual. She told me that he would often drug himself, drink and even beat up his sister. In spite of being intercepted by his parents, there was no much difference. He still continued to stalk her, saying words she couldn't handle. Later I heard that they moved out of town and bringing peace to her life."

He jumps out of bed his feet pressing on my brown carpet. His blue eyes travel across my bookshelf.

"What books do you read?

"Hmm..."

"There is nothing much than a whole collection of encyclopedia and children's BIBLE!."

"Yeah, I loved collecting them. Is there a problem? Why are you looking at me like that."

"Have you realized you in High School?

"What do you mean?" I could stare at him. "No matter how old you turn, your still a child under the eyes of GOD."

He left without another word.

'Love is an open door' Is just a name that came to my mind, completely fictional. If some movie like that exists I'm not relating it to it.
