Class resumes, as usual, the next day and Mr.Smith stomps into the classroom masking a grumpy face. The class shuts down in silence, flipping pages was the only sound inside the four walls.
"Students, I am here to inform you about the upcoming science fest, the entire class should dutifully participate in this group event of two. The best part is I'm honored of putting you in groups of my desire even if you like it on not."I considered him a sweet man but I take my words back.
His gaze first landed on Luke, "You are paired with Ms.Williams, Marshall."He smirked.
No! I wanted to do be paired with Hannah.
He groups the rest of the class and continues his lecture.
Suddenly Luke snorts making the entire class titter, the snort acting as a catalyst to Mr. Smith's madness.
"Mr.Marshall, stand up!" He straightened up, "I said stand up!" pushing the desk forward he stood on his feet.
"Answer my questions."He began, every question tough in his own understanding, Luke stood blank not knowing a single answer.
The teacher's eyes landed on me repeating the same questions. I answer hesitantly, the sound of my voice alone in the classroom scaring me.
"Ms. Williams I'm assigning you to tutor him. I don't care how? but I'm relying on you. Promise me you would?"
I gulp down, a cold wave passing down my spine. After a quick breath, I nod.
The bell rings dismissing the crowd. Luke makes faces at Mr. Smith and finds me staring,"What! He deserves it." He protests
He dumps his books in his bag and urgently informs me, "Meet me after school at the park near the food court."And runs out without my answer.
It was surprising that I did obey him, after a long debate with my mind to head home but my legs won't obey.
This place is so beautiful, the tall trees, the creeping grass, the emerging flowers, the round shrubs, and the cool breeze were just a maintained experience of the woods. The food court hidden between the woods had no customers.
It's been a while, a long time, and it's almost six. My patience giving way, I simply head home.
