The mosey walk down the memory lane was refreshing. The place hasn't changed much. Mr. Jack's bakery has grown bigger, The Macro's cheese seems missing, the large oak tree has company and there are things I'm still trying to figure out.
I inform Mike to pick me up late in the evening as I hop into the park; I always love. I jog into it; people throwing me a look. Maybe they have never seen a man in a black tux jogging in the park?
'It's a new trend duke.' I smirk.
The cafeteria seemed middle-aged, the walls still stuck the same paint but a little pale. I turn to my right, the bench we often occupy. It's painted green, a fresh green that could easily be camouflaged with the bushes.
A woman sat at the corner of the bench, buried inside a book, her long hair swaying in the light breeze which the park could produce. She wore a grey dress stretching neatly towards her crossed legs; she looked so still that she could be easily mistaken as a wax statue.
A soft breeze filled the air seeping into my fabric, a strong feeling of relief embracing me. The woman held her page in a firm grip, her hair flowing with the breeze exposing her face.
"Judi!" My voice came out like a squeak. She winced at the sound of her name; her eyes bulging in my direction.
"Luke?" She replied slowly, recognizing my smile.
"Yes, it's me." My heartwarming in happiness.
She looked all around the place; stood swiftly on her feet and dragged me towards the bushes.
"What are you........."I pull her into an embrace before she could complete it.
"I missed you." That was all I could say.
"Liar." She answered dryly.
Actually, she's right.
We rip apart when we hear footsteps.
"You show up suddenly after so many years and you give such a surprise invitation I just can't handle." She hisses.
"I'm......"
"Judi!" I hear another male voice calling her name.
"Sunday,in-my-place-there-is-an engagement-party-you should-come." She informs urgently.
"Huh.....Whose?"
She looks down on the floor, "Mine."
She scribbles something on her notepad and hands it over to me.

JUDITH's POV;
Sunday! The big Sunday of my life, the day I'm getting betrothed to Isaac. Isaac Martin is a Christian just like me, the son of Jonas Martin, CEO of Martin Inc; the company my Dad works for. Mr. Martin invited my family one dinner and that's how I met Isaac. I wouldn't consider our relationship was for love but rather professional. He seemed too interested in me in the first place which I still couldn't figure out.
"It's the eternity that brought us together."That's what he would always answer.
He is a gentleman and an honorable person. Gives me that personal freedom and care which I always need. But I still feel some emptiness, I just can't tell why.
The mirror on the dresser reflected the lavender dress I picked for this occasion. It sits modestly on my skin, extending the carpeted floor just like I wanted.
Mom curls my hair as I simultaneously apply light makeup and dab my pink gloss on my lips. She crowns my neck with a diamond pendent; my fingers reach to it feeling its engraved texture.
"Sweetpea, I'm so proud of you." She breaks down, tears run down her cheeks. I embrace her warmly, her quiet sobs escape from her thin lips.
"Mom..." I trail off tears springing to my eyes.
She pulls off, her brown eyes focusing on mine.
"Judith, you have been such a blessed child to us. You have always picked our choices than yours. From toys, clothes, school, college, career, and now the man! I know all this was too soon but I just feel Isaac and you deserve each other." She wipes her tears with her handkerchief dabbing around her eyes.
"All I could offer you is a diamond pendant which is not worth all the blessings you are to me."
"I did this because I love you and I know all the hard-work you paid was just for me. GOD's plan is best than what my heart desires, I just surrendered my life under his precious hands. You are my parents and I know through you GOD will always provide me the best." Her smile warmed the deepest parts of my heart.
"Now pull yourself together, I don't want the guest to see my mother's tearful face."
