They were beamed back to the Enterprise as Spock carried Alex to the Sick Bay. Scotty and Bones handled the captain. They had placed the siblings on beds as Bones looked at Spock.

"I need to look you over too after that Skylar invaded your mind, but these two need more immediate attention," the doctor said. Spock nodded.

"Yes doctor. Please tell me when they wake up." Bones couldn't help but grin. Spock frowned.

"Something humorous doctor?"

"Just imaging Jim's face when he finds out that you carried his sister into Sick Bay."

"I was merely helping a medical officer."

"Sure Spock. You're probably needed at the bridge or something aren't you? The captain is unconscious after all," Bones pointed out.

"Yes doctor. We will leave this location and report to Starfleet what happened," Spock said.

"I'll ring when the Kirks wake up," Bones said. Spock nodded as the plural still confused him.

It was a few hours before Spock was told to come to Sick Bay. He wouldn't admit it, but he was concerned about Alex and the captain's condition. Being Vulcan, Spock assumed he handled the mental attack differently than a full blooded human. He would have to add his thoughts to his personal log later. Nothing else of importance had happened since their adventure, except Chekov telling Sulu how an Earth band called The Beatles was better than some band called BTS. Then he heard a whistle and McCoy's voice telling him that Jim was awake. Spock left Chekov in charge as he was singing a song called "Back In The USSR".

Jim was sitting up in his bed with a cup of coffee as Bones finished scanning him.

"Captain," Spock said.

"Spock. I'm glad someone was in charge while I was gone."

"Are you alright captain?"

"I think so, just a knock on the head I'm sure."

"Well, that knock on the head still has your sister unconscious," Bones said grimly. Jim looked over at his sibling and stood up. Bones put a hand on his shoulder.

"Easy Jim. Something that alien did bothered your brain. I have yet to discover what."

"And whatever that is, is still affecting my sister," Jim said as he shrugged the doctor off and walked toward her.

"Is there anything we can do?" Jim asked. Spock walked closer.

"There is one option, though if she would not respond well, could be dangerous," Spock said.

"What are you suggesting?" the captain asked.

"A mind meld. If successful, I could communicate with her and see what is happening inside her head, so to speak," Spock suggested.

"She's never done anything like that before," Jim said.

"What if she panics? What if she thinks it's the Skylar again?" he asked.

"I will reassure her captain. I promise you that," Spock said. Jim looked at Bones.

"What do you think doctor? Could it work?"

"In theory. I'll prepare a sedative just in case though," the doctor said.

"Do it. I'm staying here," the captain said. Spock nodded and walked over to Alex's beside. Nurse Chapel joined them just in case. Spock placed his hand on Alex's temple as he closed his eyes.
