Alex opened her eyes to the planet once more. She started her scanner for life signs while security took a look around the ship. She hadn't found anything when she heard a blast of phaser fire and screaming. She ran towards the scream. A security officer was laying on his back, his phaser near his outstretched hand. Alex checked for a pulse. She couldn't find one as she frantically searched for the others. She didn't visibly seen an opponent, nor did she pick up any other life signs. She swore under her breath as she got out her communicator.
"Kirk to Enterprise. Kirk to the Enterprise!" She almost yelled in frustration. She didn't receive an answer before another blast of phaser fire went right by her head as she dived for the ground behind some of the ship's rubble.
"Some first mission," she muttered as she sneaked a peak around. Where did security go? She thought to herself. She didn't have a phaser on her. She tried hailing the ship again.
"Alex what's going on down there?" She heard the captain say.
"It's a trap Jim. Don't come down here. Jones is dead and the others are missing. I don't know who's attacking," Alex gasped as she was under more phaser fire and had to readjust her position.
"I'm beaming you up right now," her brother said as she shook her head.
"No, I can't leave. I've got to find the others," she said as she was then hit by phaser fire. She gasped as she dropped her communicator. She was hit again as she closed her eyes.
