Bit Random Author's Note: So I was bored the other night, and was looking through some old stories, and I found one about a Sherlock fanfiction I wrote forever ago. Would anyone be interested in reading a Sherlock fanfic about his kids? I would have to edit quite a bit of it, since I mostly wrote it in high school I believe, but the general story seemed decent. Anyway, here is more Star Trek!
Spock spent time between his quarters and Alex's whenever she was off duty. Sometimes if he was bored enough he would go to Sick Bay to see her at work and annoy Bones. McCoy didn't mind however, as long as Spock was recovering. Jim would play chess with him as often as he could, though he only came close to winning once when Alex walked in the room.
Spock and Alex agreed they didn't want to finish Fifty Shades of Gray. But Spock came to Alex's quarters one evening and she gave him another book.
"Titanic? Ah yes, I believe my mother told me about the historical earth ship sinking." Alex laughed.
"Is that all she told you it was?"
"I believe there were movies made of it."
"Okay, after you read it, we're watching the movie. It's a mandatory film for my friends, and uh, boyfriend." Spock raised an eyebrow. He still wasn't used to the earth term. People still stared at them in the halls, but it had become a norm to him.
"If you say so," he said. Spock said goodnight and carried the book as he headed to his quarters. However, a gold shirt caught his attention.
"Spock, what have you got there?" Jim asked.
"A book your sister wants me to read." Jim saw the cover and smiled.
"Ah yes. You two must be serious then. My heart will go on," Jim started to sing as Spock raised an eyebrow.
"I do not understand why that involves singing captain..."
"Oh, I can't wait till you watch the movie!" Jim grinned as McCoy came by.
"Are you putting on a show captain?" Bones asked.
"Alex wants Spock to read Titanic." Bones smiled.
"My heart will go on," McCoy said.
"That is what the captain said, or rather tried to sing."
"Oh Spock, I can't wait for you to understand this reference," the doctor said.
"The Titanic was a ship. I do not understand why you two seem to be getting emotional."
"A ship is a ship Spock," Jim replied.
"Well, I'll let you go start reading. I can't wait to hear about this tomorrow," Bones said as he left.
"Indeed. I better let you start on that, my sister will want a page count in the morning," Jim said as he started to leave. Spock raised an eyebrow when he was left alone in the hallway.
"Page count?" Spock muttered to himself.
Spock read almost 100 pages before falling asleep. He then had a strange dream of him and Alex singing My Heart Will Go On aboard the Enterprise. Jim and Bones also played violins while they sang, and the Enterprise was attacked. Spock woke up sweating when the ship tore apart. Spock said a human swear word as he got up from his bed.
"Why do humans like this?" He muttered to himself as he picked the book up. Spock wished his mother was available to discuss this matter, but she and Sarek were on a diplomatic mission. He tried to think of someone he could discuss this with without the entire crew finding out. Spock got ready for the day and walked out of his quarters.
He had looked up on computer records for where he thought this person would be and waited for them to get off shift. He didn't want to get noticed, so he stayed by the turbolift.
He didn't have to wait long for Lieutenant Uhura to come out of the lift. She looked around the hallway before she spotted the Vulcan.
"Mister Spock, I thought you weren't allowed to work yet?" Spock walked toward her.
"I am not on duty but have a matter in which I need some advice," Spock revealed. Uhura stared at him.
"Well I'm surprised a Vulcan like yourself needs advice from me when you could talk to the captain or even Dr. McCoy." Spock sighed.
"I'd rather not discuss this with them, seeing as the rest of the crew would surely find out about it."
"Then I'm flattered Spock. What do you need help with?" Spock looked around the hallway as a crew member walked by.
"Perhaps if we could go somewhere more private?" Spock asked as Uhura nodded. Spock followed Uhura as she led the way.
Chekhov couldn't believe it. He saw Spock talking to Uhura when the entire ship knew he was dating the captain's sister. He doubted Spock would ever be disloyal, considering his friendship with the captain, but he felt he needed to at least tell Alex about it.
Chekov was headed to the mess hall and found Alex there. She had just grabbed a tray of breakfast food and coffee. He noticed she had shadows under her eyes.
"Alex, are you alright?" She snapped her head to him.
"I just pulled a double shift, I'll be fine after some coffee..." Chekov gulped as he followed his friend toward a table. She started eating some bacon as she glanced at him.
"What?"
"Um, I veel like I should tell you something. It's probably nothing..."
"What?"
"Um, on my vay here, I saw Spock talking to Uhura in the hallway." Alex looked up at him.
"So?"
"I just thought, newermind..."
"Chekov are you okay?"
"I think so."
"Spock's not stupid Chekov. Or at least I don't think so. He's still half human."
"Right. Sorry I bothered you."
"It's alright Chekov. I'd rather you tell me," Alex said as Chekov smiled back.
