Spock joined the captain on the bridge. Jim turned from his chair as he saw his first officer.

"Spock, we appear to be going through an asteroid field."

"That was not on course," Spock said as he returned to his post.

"Well it is now Spock. Any good ideas on how to get around it?"

"Captain, I'm not sure it's just an asteroid field," Sulu said as he stared at the screen. Kirk gazed up and saw what looked like debris.

"What is it?" Kirk asked.

"Scanners show parts of what looked like a ship," Spock said as he looked up.

"Was it one of ours? We haven't had any distress calls," Kirk said.

"It's too damaged to tell captain," the Vulcan said.

"Approach with caution Mr. Sulu. We have to see if anybody needs help. Uhura, open all channels just in case," the captain ordered.

"Aye sir," Sulu said

"Channels open sir," Uhura said.

Some time went by, and they saw nothing new. Kirk looked at Spock.

"Why don't you get some rest? It appears nothing exciting is happening," Kirk said to his first officer.

"I'm alright captain."

"That's not a suggestion Spock. Go and get some rest," Jim said as Spock gave in.

"Very well sir," Spock said as he left the bridge. He headed toward his quarters and found himself getting tired after all. He didn't notice the dark haired girl waiting near his door.

"Is everything alright Spock?" he heard Alex say.

"Yes, I'm sorry I was called away. The Enterprise is in an asteroid field where another ship's debris was found," Spock explained.

"That's alright. I'm just glad you didn't get into trouble, or my brother for that matter. Perhaps we can meet once you've rested, you've had a long shift," Alex said.

"I look forward to it," Spock said.

"Well, goodnight Spock." As Alex started to leave, Spock grabbed her hand.

"Goodnight Alex," he said as he let go.

Spock awoke the next morning and got ready for the day. He then realized he was off duty today but didn't know if Alex was. He decided to walk down to Sick Bay and find out, if anything he could bother Dr. McCoy.

The Sick Bay door opened revealing the doctor looking over some equipment. His eyebrows raised as he saw the Vulcan.

"Coming early for your yearly physical or looking for someone?" he remarked.

"I was actually looking for Miss Kirk," Spock admitted.

"Well she's off duty today. You won't find her here," the doctor said. Spock nodded and started to leave. Bones then grabbed his shoulder.

"She is Jim's sister Spock. I'd be careful if I were you," Bones advised.

"I am cautious doctor," Spock said.

"It's just not like you to become so attached," Bones said.

"I am not attached doctor, just a concerned first officer," Spock said as he left.

"Concerned first officer my ass," McCoy muttered when the Vulcan left.

Spock found his way to Alex's room and knocked. Alex answered it shortly after.

"Spock. I wasn't expecting you," she said.

"I'm sorry I should have called ahead first, but I am off duty today," his voice started to drift.

"That's alright. Would you like to come in?" Alex offered. Spock raised an eyebrow as he glanced down the hall.

"If it is alright," he said as Alex stepped back to allow him in.

Dr. McCoy had left Sick Bay and slowly followed Spock. He figured he knew where he was headed but didn't want to believe it. He had gone to Alex's quarters, and she had let him in. Bones gasped as he left the hall to tell the captain.

Bones stormed up to the bridge. Jim was sitting in his captain's chair as he saw the doctor and frowned.

"Bones, everything alright?" The doctor walked up to him and whispered in his ear.

"I have a private matter to discuss with you. It's about your sister," he said quietly. Jim looked around the bridge.

"Sulu, you have the con. I'll be back in a moment," the captain ordered as Sulu got up.

"Aye sir," Sulu said as McCoy and the captain got on the lift. Bones waited for the door to close.

"Spock is with your sister. Right now," Bones revealed as the captain gasped at him.

"Spock? What?"

"He came to Sick Bay looking for her, then I saw him go to her quarters. I don't know what to think Jim," Bones said.

"You don't think..." Jim's voice trailed off.

"Perhaps you could call Spock to the bridge and we can find out," Bones suggested.

"On what grounds? We're not on red alert right now," Jim pointed out.

"Dammit Jim, you're the captain and he's the first officer, surely you can come up with some stupid excuse!" Jim sighed.

"I hate you sometimes."

"I know."

Spock leaned in and found himself kissing Alex. She returned the kiss, and lingered for a moment before he turned away.

"I shouldn't. You're Jim's sister," he said.

"He's not always the boss of us Spock," Alex said as Spock raised an eyebrow.

"Logically, as we are both off duty," he muttered as Spock leaned her against the wall of her room. Alex giggled like a schoolgirl as Spock allowed himself to smile.
