Chapter 29

Deanna ---

I started driving kahit hindi  ko alam kung saan ako pupunta. All I know is I want to leave this place and go somewhere else. 

Jema.. Bakit ganun?

My phone kept on ringing.. But I don't want to answer dahil gusto kong mapag-isa. I know Maddie, Pongs and Bea would understand.

A few minutes after, I stopped into this convenient store to buy some beer and chips. But before I went out of the car, nahirapan akong huminga. 

Shit. Bakit ngayon pa. 

I tried to relax and opened my car window to get some fresh air. I called Pongs and after a while they arrived.

"Deanns! We'll bring you to the hospital." Bungad ni Ponggay.

"No, I'm okay guys." Pag-angal ko rito. 

"Hospital is just 10 minutes away from here. Let's go! Deanns, this is not the right time para pairalin mo yang katigasan ng ulo mo! Let's Go!" Pagmamatigas ni Maddie.

"Just relax and don't panic, Okay? Here, drink some water muna. Pongs, open the car window!" Ika ni Bea.

We arrived in the hospital and I was attended immediately. The doctor said I just experienced hyperventilation, and I was advised to calm down muna and free my mind from anything that's causing me too much emotions or anger.

How will I do that? 

I leaned on my side at napansin ko si Pongs na may kausap sa phone.

"Hey. Relax lang ha? Better umidlip ka muna so you'll feel better. For sure you don't want to be admitted here, right?" Biro sa akin ni Bea.

"Yeah.. Thanks guys." And I smiled to her.

I got to have a nap and ask them I want to go home. They settled everything at umuwi na kami. We all decided na kina Ponggay na muna matulog lahat so we won't worry at umaga na rin.

"..I just called to say we're home na. Dito na muna sa bahay si Deanna." Dinig kong kwento ni Ponggay sa kausap niya over the phone.

Nilapitan ko siya at sumenyas, tinatanong kung sinong kausap niya.

"Sure. Here she is.." Sagot nito sa kausap niya sabay abot sa akin ng phone. Pongs said it's Jema.

"Hi." Simpleng bungad ko. 

"H-Hi Deanna.." Her voice.. The moment I heard it it felt like all the pain were washed away ng ganun na lang. 

Jema, What have you done?

I tried to compose myself and stayed casual all through out the conversation. Deanna, huwag mong ipakita na marupok ka. 

Kinumusta niya ako and I said I'm okay na. She apologized about what happened sa bar and I said it's okay at huwag nya nang isipin. Okay, panindigan mo yan Deanna ah..

Then suddenly she's asking me for lunch dahil babawi daw siya. So ano ka ngayon Deanna?

But I said I am out for a project so I can't. I just told her na sa Friday na lang at sa unit niya. Ibinaba ko na agad ito without getting any confirmation from her. Truth is, I really want to talk to her but I know she needs to rest na rin.

I gave the phone back to Pongs and decided to sleep na din. It has been such a long day..

Nagising ako ng maaga samantalang yung dalawa ay nasa kasarapan pa ng tulog. Nagtimpla ako ng kape at habang hinihigop ko ito ay naisipan kong i-check yung profile ni Deanna na sinend sa akin ni Derek.
