Time leap, Christmas.

Chris' POV.

"There's my favorite niece!" My sister exclaims, scooping up Riley and kissing her cheek. Riley laughs and smiles ear to ear.

"Oh, thanks. Good to see you too." I deadpan.

Juliet rolls her eyes, "I lived with you for twelve years before you finally moved out. Then you got all big and famous. Besides, she's a lot cuter than you."

I chuckle, "Love you too." (A/N: So that's implying that Chris is 6 years older than Juliet but I'm not sure what the actual age difference between them is in real life, just that Chris is the oldest. I also am not quite sure his sister's actual name, however some of my research would suggest that it is Juliet.)

She smiles, "Come on. Mom, Dad, and Nick are all waiting for us inside."

We walk inside, shivering from the cold. There was a good six inches of snow on the ground, and it was absolutely freezing. It felt good to get inside and feel warmth again.

"Look who's here!" Jules cheers.

"You're late!" Nick exclaims, jokingly.

My mom walks over and smiles, "Look how big my Riley's gotten!"

"Oh yeah, tour was great. Missed you guys too." I say sarcastically, smiling.

My mom laughs, "I'm not gonna forget my oldest baby! I feel like you've been gone for so long!" She says, hugging me. I stand a good foot taller than her and hug her back. I've really missed my family while I've been gone. I always do.

We break the embrace as Jules walks into the other room with Riley. I can vaguely hear my dad and Nick greet them. It makes me smile to see my whole family together. (A/N: Chris' parents are divorced in real life but according to Chris they didn't do so until Juliet was old enough to support herself, which at this point in time she was not as she was only 17 or MAYBE 18. So for the sake of the chapter we're gonna say they were still married.)

"So...No Carlie this year." My mom states.

"Or any other year from now on." I confirm.

My mom nods, "You did the right thing, Christopher."

I sigh, "I sure hope so. I just feel guilty that Riley is going to grow up without a mother."

"Hey, I know plenty of young girls that would probably find you very attractive and would love to-"

"Mom..." I whine.

"Alright, alright." She says, "Look, honey, Riley is going to be perfectly fine. She has a family with us, and with your band. Sure, in that ratio the females are a bit outnumbered, but that little girl's life is going to be filled with more than enough love. I promise you that."

I smile, "I certainly hope so."

She smiles in return, "Now, come on. We haven't seen you in months and we wanna hear all about the tour!" She says, "And when are you growing your eyebrows back?"

I laugh, "I don't know, Mom."

*

Riley is asleep on my dad's lap, Jules is getting the dishes, and Nick and I are helping Mom pick up the wrapping paper.

"So, she just signed her rights away? Just like that." My dad states.

"Yeah, I can't believe it either. I'm just glad that all of the bullshit with her is over."
