You are strong and wise
But filled with lies
For that mask that you wear
Is the ultimate disguise
You refuse to let go
And you keep a stronghold
Of that boy you once loved
That boy who hurt you so
Oh just know that it's poison
That's affected your poise and
Has damaged your character
Turned into something less grand
Yes I know how you feel
It is a feeling surreal
For I still remember it
As if it were real
But it was all in my head
All those feelings of dread
I used it to focus
On happiness instead
But you are much stronger
It should have taken me longer
For you have suffered more
You just refuse to remember
If it were up to me
I would help you see
I would give you my strength
And make you happy
But you only show me your mask
So then I must ask
Do you want to get better
Or are you part of the past?
