-Annie's POV-
"Not whatever. We'll talk about it later, though. I'm hungry." Kenzie flops down onto the couch.

"I have lots of snacks but they're already up in my room, so you just have to get back up."

We stand up and I follow the three of them up the stairs to a door at the front of the hall. Jayden turns the knob and we step in to see a normal teenage bedroom. Of course more normal than mine, because I don't care enough to have nice things, or I just decide that I don't deserve them one day and give them away.

I see lots of snacks sitting on a white vanity in the corner, and most of them are familiar since she asked us all what we wanted in the group chat yesterday.

They all sit down on the floor and I do the same.

"Okay, I've said it before and I'll say it one more time, what do y'all do here?"

"Pretty much the same as the lunch table. Spill tea. But sleepovers are a safe space. It's like the most important place for telling secrets. Haven't you been to one before?"

"Katie and I have them all the time, just the two of us. She's into all that stuff, but I'm not. We usually just end up watching something on Netflix the whole time. She always gives me the scoop, but I don't really listen." I shrug.

      "What about...before?" Jayden asks hesitantly.

      "Before what?" Kenzie asks.

"Before I became so depressed and antisocial." I say flatly.

"I was actually meaning to ask about that, why you seem so closed-off. Only if you feel comfortable talking about it, of course." Lauren says.

      "Guys, stop." Jayden says quietly.

"No, it's fine. Relax." I turn to her.

"I used to be normal. You know, just like all of you. I had lots of friends and I was always happy and whatever. Then when I was eleven, my older brother passed away. I've been this way ever since." I sigh.

"I'm so sorry for your loss." Lauren slides her arm down my shoulder.

"Yeah, I had no idea." Kenzie looks down. It's quiet for a moment before I speak up.

"Hell no. Y'all aren't allowed to get all awkward just because you feel bad. I'm fine."

"Okay, if you're sure you're fine."

"I am." I roll my eyes.

"Moving on then. You said you watch Netflix and stuff at sleepovers? Well, we do that too, but we spill tea at the same time." Lauren says.

"Interesting. I don't really have any tea, but I have all the good Netflix and YouTube suggestions."

      "Shoot." Kenzie shrugs.

"Netflix or YouTube?"

"I don't really watch YouTube for entertainment much." Lauren says.

"Me neither. Maybe you can show us the ropes." Kenzie suggests.

I give Jayden a look while she turns on the TV.

"What?" She tilts her head to the side.

"Tana." I say simply. She sighs.

"Huh?" Kenzie asks.

"She's great. Tell em, Jayden. They'll trust you more than me."

"Yeah. I mean she's pretty funny. You'll love her." She finds Tana's name in her subscriptions and clicks on it.

"We have to start with a classic." I say formally.

"What do you have in mind then?"

"Duh, toothbrush." I stare straight at the screen and chuckle.

"Toothbrush?"

"What does that even mean?"

"You'll see." Jayden grins.

"Since y'all are so soft, which we'll work on later, I am gonna give you both a warning. This bitch uses some very explicit language."

They nod their heads nervously as the video begins.

....

We finish the video and it turns out pretty well. I expected their faces to be white as ghosts by the half way mark, but we actually all just laughed the whole time.

"Okay, I've got to be honest and say that I'm hooked, but before we start another video I have to ask about those 'lessons' that you said we needed." Lauren says to me.

"Ah, yes. Well there are only two things that I feel require my input. First of all, it actually worried me when you said that you cry when you say bad words. Like, it ain't that deep at all." I point to Lauren.

"It's just because my parents always told me that they're bad and I've felt really guilty when I've done it in the past." She shrugs.

"The fact that parents say they're bad is what makes them so fun. It's freeing. You just don't say them when you're actually in front of them."

"Sometimes you just don't know what to say and a cuss word is the perfect replacement." I continue.

"Come on, say 'shit'. The scary s word. Do it for the girl with the dead brother." I pressure them.

"It's not that big a deal to me actually, but I still try to limit myself. I'll do it. Shit." Kenzie laughs.

"Will any of you tell my parents if I say it just this once?" Lauren hesitates.

"Why the actual fuck would we do that? See? It's fun." I say.

"Fine. But I can't just say it. Give me something to say it for."

"Ummmm....I'll give you a scenario. Lets say your brother is having a party and he breaks something expensive and noticeable. Your parents will probably punish you both." I say randomly. She takes a deep breath and holds it.

      "Oh shit." She exhales.

"Hey, there it is!" We clap.

"That actually did feel kind of fun." She smiles toward the floor.

"Your turn, Jay." Kenzie looks over at her slyly.

"I'm always home alone. I say shit every once in a while." She shrugs.

"Great I guess. Now that whatever that pointless five minutes was is done with, onto the next video. I think we should take a big time skip. The sugar daddy storytime. Am I right or am I right?"

"I think out of those two options, you're right." Jayden says in response.

      "I always am." I sigh.
