-Jayden's POV-
"Truth." Lauren says quietly."Do you have a crush on Hayden?" Kenzie smirks.
"Um..I-uh, no?" Her face becomes red.
"Don't lie!" I laugh.
"Damn that's hot tea." Annie says before turning to Kenzie.
"Kenzie, truth or dare?" She asks.
"Truth."
"Did you ever have sex with that asshat Ashton?"
"Hell no. I would never. I'm sure he's told people that, but it is extremely false. He's disgusting."
"Truth or dare, Jay?" Lauren speaks up.
"I need something exciting right now. Dare." I sigh.
"Kiss Annie."
Annie widens her eyes.
"Sure." I say flatly and lean over before pecking her on the cheek.
"Okay, PARENTS, but that was cheatiiiing." Kenzie whines.
"Well you can't force us." Annie crosses her arms. Lauren grabs Kenzie by the arm and gets up.
"We're gonna go to the bathroom. Together. Hey, just a random thought, maybe you two should talk while we're gone!" She beams.
"About anything particular?" Annie rolls her eyes.
"I think you know." Kenzie smiles before they step out of the room.
"Jayden?"
"Yes?" I respond hopefully.
"Do you still like me?"
"Mhm. Do you still like me?"
"Yep."
"So are we still on for tomorrow?"
"What are we gonna do?"
"When Kenzie and Lauren leave my mom can drop us off at like the movies or something."
"This is my first date, therefore I'm not going unless you ask me out." She says stubbornly. I take a deep breath and straighten my back.
"Julianna, do you maybe wanna go out like, tomorrow?" I ask in a fake-professional tone.
"I'll think about it." She jokes. Kenzie bursts through the door with Lauren behind her.
"Awww!"
"Suddenly I'm tired again." I roll my eyes as I stand up and get into my bed.
"Goodnight." I whine.
"Night" They all reply before we drift off to sleep.
....
"Bye." I say as I give Lauren a hug.
"I had fun. See you guys on Monday." She waves before closing my front door behind her. Kenzie left about ten minutes ago.
"Mom, are you ready?" I shout.
"Are you?" I hear from upstairs.
"Um, yeah or I wouldn't have said anything yet!"
I hear her bedroom door close and she makes her way down the stairs.
"So, I'm dropping you off at the movies, and how are you getting home?"
"Annie said her mom can pick us up and drop me off back here." I smile.
"Okay. Can I have her number please?"
"Of course. I can put it in your phone if you would like." Annie says in a tone I've never heard before. It's like, polite?
"Sure, here." My mom hands Annie her phone. She types the number in and then gives it back and mom makes her way out the door with us following.
"Who was that just talking to my mother? Because that was not you." I chuckle.
"I can get along with parents that aren't my own. They're usually not as annoying, so..."
....
-Annie's POV-
"You guys have a good time. Text me if you need anything and Jayden, text me when you get home please.""Okay. Love you. Thanks."
"Love you." Jayden's mother drives away and we stand in front of the movie theater.
"What are we even seeing?" I question.
"We should have thought about that beforehand." She sighs as we walk up to the list of current showings.
"How about Yesterday?" I suggest. She finds the description and reads it.
"I guess so." She shrugs.
We buy our tickets and go inside.
"I'm the one who said I like you first and I'm the one who officially asked you out." Jayden says out of nowhere.
"Okay, and..?"
"Which means you have to pay for snacks." She grins mischievously.
"That's not fair!" I whine.
"Fine." She chuckles.
"But it does mean that you have to be the one who unexpectedly grabs my hand during the movie." She grins.
"Whatever."
We get our snacks and we're just in time, because the next showing happened to start 10 minutes after we got here.
We quietly discuss the previews and when the lights go all the way off I almost immediately tangle our fingers together. I'm no pussy, plus we already discussed it.
....
"Did you like the movie?" Jayden asks as we step onto the curb.
"I think it was great, but did you? You didn't seem that interested." I reply.
"It was a good movie, I'm just not the biggest Beatles fan.."
"That's definitely your loss." I shrug. I look around until I find a familiar silver minivan parked nearby.
"Come on." I sigh.
"When we get in the car just don't say anything. Trust me, it's in your favor."
"I'm sure it won't be that bad." She says optimistically.
"I'm sure it will. You'll see." We approach the car door. I nonchalantly slide it open and Jayden takes the seat next to me in the middle row. My mom is up front and Hayley is in the back.
If my mother opens her mouth at all I will be screwed. Not sure how yet, but I know that she'll mess...whatever this is..up for me.
