"Can I wash this off yet?" I interrupt our current viewing of Everything Sucks by whining about the black face mask that Jayden insisted would be enjoyable.
"Five more minutes. And you don't wash this kind off. You peel it."
"Does it hurt?"
"Nope."
"Let's take a picture." She smiles, grabbing her phone.
"I look ugly."
"Oh! You know what would be good for this?"
"What?"
"Your present." She grins.
"Sure, I guess I'm in the mood to be showered with gifts." I chuckle.
She giggles before grabbing her bag and pulling out a small box.
"It's small I guess, but I thought you would like it." She says as I begin to tear away the shiny red paper.
My eyes are met with a box that says "Fujifilm QuickSnap Disposable Camera".
"You've always seemed like the photographer type. Back before I knew so much about you, that's what I thought when I saw you walking down the halls and stuff."
"Thank you. This is really nice." I say, smiling. That probably sounded like I don't like it but I just genuinely don't know how to convey my emotions.
"Are you sure you like it?"
I shift toward her a little more.
"I love it. You know i'm just not good at stuff like this. Thank you." I embrace her in a hug and reach behind my back for her gift. She smiles and takes it from my hands.
"I wasn't sure exactly what you would want..." I lean down to grab her present.
"I can already promise that I'll love it." She laughs.
