•Time skip to Friday-you had to expect it by now•
-Annie's POV-
I close my locker and begin my short walk to art, my second-to-last class of the day. Finally. I know I'll spend the next hour and a half staring at the clock and waiting to be released into break."Friday!" I jump as I hear a voice come out of nowhere, along with a hand on my shoulder.
I glance behind me and see the familiar bright smile of Jayden Bartels.
"Hey."
"What are your plans for Winter break?" She asks enthusiastically as we walk together.
"I don't know. I have a feeling it'll be anti-climactic though." I shrug.
"We should hang out. I still haven't been to your house yet."
"And I would like to keep it that way as long as my sister is nosy and my parents are annoying."
"I'm sure it's not that bad. We'll never know if we don't try. How about a trial sleepover?"
"Fine." I sigh.
"Oh, what do you want for Christmas?" She pipes up once again.
"Jayden, it's fine. I don't need anything."
"Lies. Don't worry. I have some ideas."
"Well then what do you want??" I say, giving up.
"We'll talk about it later. I'm not really sure."
"Hypocrite." I tease as we head into the classroom.
"Hey!" Katie beams as I sit down next to her, Jayden taking her seat diagonally in front of me. She turns around and faces us.
"You're coming to the party tomorrow, right?"
"Of course. Annie?" Katie responds and they both turn to me.
"I'll be there." I sigh.
Jayden is having a Christmas party tomorrow and of course I don't want to go, because it's a party. But, Jayden promised me that it'll be small. Pretty much just everyone from the lunch table and maybe like two other people.
"Who else should I invite? Even though it would be very last minute at this point."
"I don't know. I don't have any friends besides the people who are already coming." I shrug.
"What about you, Katie?"
"I'm not even sure who's coming." She chuckles.
"I'll text the list to the group chat when we get out of school." She smiles before turning back around as the rest of the students file in and we start class.
....
I step inside my house and head over to the kitchen. I grab a glass from the cabinet and fill it with water before making my way to another cabinet in the corner. I throw my hand up as a reflex to grab my pills, which are always in the same place. I don't feel anything there, so I look up and they are nowhere to be found.
"Hayley, do you know what happened to my pills?" I mumble before realizing that she had already gone upstairs to her room.
"Mom!" I raise my voice.
"Yeah Annie?" She appears in the hallway.
"Where's my Prozac?"
"Let's sit." She sits down on the couch and I roll my eyes before following her. Whatever it is isn't a big deal.
"I don't think you really need them." She says calmly.
"Well I agree, but aren't I gonna go into withdrawal or something??"
"Trust me, your father and I are more worried about it than you are. I called the doctor today and he said we can try starting with just one a day before we start cutting them into smaller pieces."
"Okay, well then where did they go?"
"When I was on the phone I was moving around and I was carrying the bottle around with me. I think I left it in my room. When I put them back remember that you're not going to be taking another until tomorrow morning."
"Whatever." I say before grabbing my bag and heading upstairs.
A/N
This is a filler chapter because I have literally no inspiration sorry lmao
I've been working on a new story that's pretty good but I am terrible at writing two stories at once and I always end up just forgetting about the one I was already working on so I'm trying not to focus on that one for now🤪
vOte even though this was boring🤠
