Me- i don't want anything from you right
now. leave me alone.
Why does she think I want to talk to her right now? Does she think this barely matters? This could fuck shit up so bad.
I continue getting ready and before I know it I find myself entering the school building.
"Welcome back." Sky sighs as I sit down at the table. I don't think there could be a single person who wants to be back at school today, or any day.
We see Katie walking in, but she sits down at an empty table across the cafeteria.
"What's that about??" Lauren raises an eyebrow and everyone turns to look at me.
"What are you looking at me for?"
"Come on Annie, you're her best friend. There's no way you don't know anything." Kenzie drums her fingers on the table as she speaks.
"Jayden, can we talk?" I blurt out right before grabbing my girlfriend's hand and marching toward the bathroom.
"Are you okay?" Jayden puts her hands in mine when we reach the empty girls bathroom.
"I have to tell you something. I swear I didn't do anything." I'm not about to let someone else ruin the one good thing that I have.
"....Okay." She breathes deeply.
"She kissed me." I hold my breath. Jayden's face drops.
"Oh my God. Who?"
"Katie." She opens her mouth but I rush to continue.
"I didn't expect it at all. The second she did it I ran home and sobbed. I'm so sorry, Jayden. All I've said to her since was a text telling her to leave me alone."
"Annie, I don't know what to say." I begin to panic. It can't end like this.
"I didn't ask for any of this. Please believe me. I don't want to lose you, Jay."
"I don't want to lose you either, Annie. I just think I need some space to think."
"Please, no." I feel my eyes water. Hers are doing the same. She pulls me in for a reassuring kiss.
"I love you. Just give me a couple days. I promise I'll be back." I nod slowly and watch her leave the bathroom.
I sit down on the very unsanitary floor and put my head in my hands.
Why did this have to happen to me? Why did any of this have to be me? I knew one good thing couldn't last.
I pick up my backpack and look in the mirror before wiping my face with my sleeve.
I walk quickly to the nurse's office and open the door.
"Hey, sweetie. What can I do for you?" The middle-aged secretary asks enthusiastically. She quickly notices my tear-stained face.
"Oh, are you okay dear?" Her own face displays a look of concern.
"I threw up."

my boss just loves to change up the work schedule and it's starting to piss me off just a little bit. like she pushed my days forward so today was my only day off this week
