Kayla was hurriedly grabbing her messenger bag, climbing down the fire escape as she heard a distant whoosh as she sighed. So soon? Oh well, she had a thirty second headstart.

How did all of this happen? Well, let's backtrack to about ten in the morning. It was sunny, she was happy, everything was awesome except for the fact that she did see an agent couple doing some pretty scarring things.

Shuddering, she went to her office desk. She didn't have anything to do today, so it was surprising when she saw a bouquet of lilies in her office.

Go to the place where you first became apart of the Avengers hearts, the note read. (A/N Guys, I can't write rhymes. I can if its about something random, like baloney. So, bear with me. There's a purpose. Trust me.)

The room where she had first won their hearts? Hmm..... That would be in Tony Stark's building!

She rushed in, finding the exact same type of paper on the replaced coffee table that Clint had accidentally broke.

Now, to the place where you and Agent Hobbs had unpleasant experiences. Hint: Fury now knows to not mess with this place.

The gym. Of course! She rushed in there before rushing out, getting the note. She didn't exactly see the point of it, but it was better than helping Jessie with her overflowing paperwork. She was surprised that she hadn't burned any of it yet. Eh, they could do that if power went out during the winter for the people who weren't used to the cold. They had a few Southerners who had been moved to New York a while ago, but they were already wearing the puffy marshmallow jackets and last time Kayla saw one, they were all playing 'tip the overdressed Southerner.' (Not meant to offend. Southern people, I love you. Story's setting takes place in New York, it is fall. We love you Southerners!)

Four other notes you shall find. Jessie pointed out this obviously fake lie about the Civil War. Think it was a very dressed up lie.

This one was a bit harder, but Kayla got it. It was the ball they had in honor of Steve's birthday. Jessie's excuse for having a dress, since Steve didn't know he was having a birthday party, was that she was doing a Civil War reenactment. She said she totally wasn't, but when she says she isn't, sometimes it means that she is. So that's why Fury swore he heard cannons and Stark seemed mischievously nervous.

There was a little note attached as she laughed.

You can't sit next to Thor anymore at this room when they, including you Miss Cush, have meetings.

Ah, she knew. Exactly where this was.

There was a note attached, and it made her snort.

I lied about four more, I lost my muse. Is there a certain new book of yours I could use? Whoever wrote this, they knew her better than anyone. Well actually, everyone knew. She hyperventilated when Agent Valdez named her baby Leo. Also, she acted like it was the Lion King intro to Simba when she got Blood of Olympus. She still needed it signed, though.

The note was tucked inside Blood of Olympus, and she pulled it out.

You've played my game and you've won......meet me at the park at 5! (Bring a jacket and necessities you may need.)

It was 12:35 now, so she had time. She got dressed in a long, gray and white striped sweater, black winter coat vest, skinny jeans, and boots that went up to below the knee. Hair curled, looking confident as always.

At 5 in the late afternoon, the sun was beginning to fade a tinge, leaves glaring with extra sunlight and everything looking like it was on a peaceful fire or something. (Peaceful fire? You guys get the gist, come on.)

"Hey Kayla," a voice said as he covered her eyes.

"Hello Colton," she said with a laugh as she was handed a beautiful bouquet of fall themed flowers. "What's with all the secrecy and mystery?"

"I know that my girl likes a tad of a challenge here and there. And I couldn't get to your phone because Clint has it."

Their date was very nice. It was in a sort of downtown area, pumpkins, leaves, and strung lights out as they walked, talking and laughing as they bought caramel apples, kettle corn, and a small baby pumpkin. His name is Martin.

It ended with a carriage ride to their area where Colton's car was parked, still talking. Their topics were anything from daily crises to who would win in a fight, Mrs. Parr from The Incredibles, or Adam Sandler. Kayla chose Adam Sandler because he could probably make anyone laugh, and Colton chose Mrs. Parr because she raised Jack Jack. And she could stretch like a boss.

"So, did I do alright with the date?" Colton asked, seeming a bit teasing but was in reality really nervous.

"You did perfectly wonderful," Kayla stated, kissing his cheek as their hands intertwined, swinging said hands back and forth a little, sipping their hot chocolate quietly.

Colton, like a gentleman, walked Kayla back up to her apartment, gazing at her as they reached the door.

"Thank you for the date, Colton," Kayla said with a smile as he leaned in, kiss starting. It was very sweet. He smiled and waved goodbye as he left, her waving hack and blowing a kiss before shutting her door and sinking down, replaying the scenes. "My God, what a night," she whispered softly to herself as she went to bed, actually transporting herself to her bed.

Which was all the man needed to know that his plan was going to work. Very well, in fact.
