As their sixth year at Hogwarts begins, Annalise Wood and James Sirius Potter are at the peak of their rivalry. To say they hated eachother would be an understatement.
Although sometimes they brought out the worst in eachother, they also brought out...

Annalise Wood remembers the day that she had first laid eyes on James Sirius Potter. Him and his family were famous, their stories and pictures all over the daily prophet and several other magazines. After all, Harry Potter was known as one of the greatest wizards of their time, defeating Voldemort, the darkest and most dangerous wizard to ever exist. He had accomplished several other incredible feats as well which made him one many idolized in the wizarding world. Ginny Potter was an incredible chaser for the Holyhead Harpies, winning the league twice while she was on the team. The entire Weasley family as well were legends, from aurors and ministry heads, to owners of the famous joke shop "Weasley's Wizard Wheezes." To be brief, everyone in the wizarding world knew their names.
She was 9 years old and her dad, Oliver Wood, was the keeper for Puddlemere United. He had been on the team for almost 20 years, and her family was always there in the stands supporting him at each and every one of his games. She had known before that her dad was captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team while Harry Potter was on it. They were friends, and held conversations every time they ran into each other, but they certainly weren't too close. She had however, met both Ginny and Harry Potter before once or twice when they had ran into them at Diagon Alley and at parties held by mutual friends.
Turns out, 9 year old James Sirius was a huge fan of quidditch and his favorite team was Puddlemere United. Harry had asked her dad if James could meet the team on the day of their Euro league final. Her dad had agreed and after, he introduced them all to the Potter family.
She smiled waving and saying hello to both Harry and Ginny Potter, trying to contain her excitement. She was a huge fan of the Holyhead Harpies. She and her brothers introduced themselves to James, Albus, and Lily. That was about all her and James had ever said to each other for the next two years, a mere "Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm-", before their parents began chattering away until the game had started.
They met again at Hogwarts, on the first day of their first year. She was delighted she had been sorted into Gryffindor, and moments after her brother had too. She sat down at the table being welcomed with applause, and began talking to a girl named Roxanne Weasley once the feast had began. Next to Roxanne, was the same boy she had met two years ago on the quidditch pit. They muttered a quick hello, acknowledging each other, before her and Roxanne delved deeper into their conversation, and James was chattering away with her brother and another dark haired, tan boy she didn't know the name of.
The day of quidditch tryouts came, and she was among the nervous bunch of first years who were trying out for the Gryffindor quidditch team. First years rarely made the team, but she had been training hard with her dad, with the dream of making the team in her first year. James Potter was also there, gripping the exact same LightingStreak 2000 that she had in her hand. To her luck, the team had graduated two chasers and both their beaters the year before, so all she had to do was out play everyone else. It was her older brothers first year as captain, and he smiled at her encouragingly before they started their warm-ups.
