As their sixth year at Hogwarts begins, Annalise Wood and James Sirius Potter are at the peak of their rivalry. To say they hated eachother would be an understatement.
Although sometimes they brought out the worst in eachother, they also brought out...

"STUPID, STUPID NON-VERBAL SPELLS!" Alex grumbled, throwing his wand on his desk. "Why would anyone go through the trouble of learning them, when you can just say the spell!"
"Because Alex," Talia explained to him once again. "It allows you to have the element of surprise when casting spells. Whoever you decide to cast it on won't expect it!"
"Then why can't you just whisper it!" Alex countered, throwing his hands in the air. "They can't hear you anyway. You'll still have the element of surprise."
"Because-" Talia started, but didn't continue, her mouth hung slightly open, and she was deep in thought about what Alex just said.
"Aha!" Alex exclaimed. "I got you there, didn't I?" He said, feeling very proud about his accomplishment. "This is exactly why youguys really ought to listen to me more often. I'm pure genius right in front of you!"
"Alex, I think you're getting ahead of yourself." James snorted. "Alex and genius should never be used in the same sentence."
The next couple of weeks went by much faster as September breezed by in the blink of an eye. It was already the second week of October, and it had begun getting colder as the days went by. The sun was no longer out every day, gray clouds covering the sky more frequently. On the the bright side, her and Roxy were back to normal, the argument about William long forgotten in the past.
They were currently tackling non-verbal spells in all of their classes, making them much harder than before. Annalise was sitting in defense against the dark arts, practicing certain challenging spells, while Alex complained about the non-verbal spells, which he just couldn't get the hang of. She had mastered non-verbal spells after a couple of days of hard work, but there were still some difficult spells she still had trouble with.
"What's the plan for Hogsmeade next week?" Roxy asked her and Talia.
"Sorry, I already told Evan I'd go with him." Talia said apologetically.
"No need to be sorry for going on a date with your boyfriend." Roxy answered once she saw the look on Talia's face. "I suppose you're going to go with William then?" Roxy asked her.
Annalise grimaced, feeling sorry that neither of them were going with Roxy. "It's our one year anniversary in two weeks so I'm going to ask William if he wants to come and celebrate it early."
Roxy groaned, jumping up and sitting on top of her desk. "I hate being single. Now I'm going to be all alone." She grumbled.
"Just go with the boys and maybe make your move on Alex," Annalise winked, nudging her friend.
"Won't that be weird though?" Roxy asked. "It'll feel like I'm barging in on them."
"No, it won't." Talia answered for her, just as Annalise was about to say the same thing. "I think all of us know that we've gotten a lot closer this year."
