TWENTY-TWO
"All I'm saying is that there's absolutely no way Voldemort was real!""Alex, what are you even saying?" Annalise exclaimed, looking at him like he was insane for the last five minutes.
"Just think about it!" Alex insisted. "It's impossible."
Annalise turned to James, who was sitting next to her, with a bewildered expression on her face. James just sighed in defeat. "Me and Asher have had this argument with Alex about a hundred times already, and he still insists his conspiracy theory is real." He said, shaking his head as if there was no point in arguing with Alex.
"Like I know we learn about it in history of magic and stuff, but what if it was all just a cover up. Like what if the ministry of magic used Voldemort to hide something even worse going on!" Alex exclaimed, looking at the both of them with wide eyes to see if one of them would agree with his theory.
"You know last time he came over, he asked my dad if Voldemort was real or if he just made the whole thing up?" James sighed.
"You asked Harry Potter if Voldemort was real." Annalise said gaping at Alex like he was an idiot. Which he no doubt was.
"He started laughing, until he realized Alex was serious." James snorted.
"The evidence is all there!" Alex huffed, still trying to convince her and James. "How did he even make horcruxes? Like how do you even put a piece of your soul in an object! Does that make any sense to you!"
"Alex, I don't even know what to say to you anymore everytime you talk about this nonsense!" James replied.
"It's not nonsense. I stand by what I said! There's no way in hell Voldemort actually existed."
Annalise slammed her book shut, giving up trying to study. None of the information was going in her head anyway with James and Alex chattering away next to her. "When you guys told me you were studying in the library, I thought you were actually studying!"
"We are studying!" Alex defended, gesturing to his papers out in front of him.
"Alex, you've written a sentence of your charms essay." Annalise said, pointing to his scroll. Alex closed his mouth, choosing not to say what he was about to say. "And all James has done is make a paper airplane." She said gesturing at James, who was now trying to aim the paper airplane at Madam Pince.
"What did you expect?" Alex snorted, fiddling with his papers. "There's a reason Asher never studies with us."
"What I don't understand is," Annalise said, furrowing her eyebrows. "How you manage to still pass your classes."
