GOING BACK TO HOGWARTS after winter holidays was always difficult

GOING BACK TO HOGWARTS after winter holidays was always difficult. The students were always in a slump for the first week, struggling to get used to all the classes and homework after two weeks free at home. Annalise was no exception.

She was no longer enjoying the twelve hours of sleep she had during break, and was struggling to manage on the usual seven she got at Hogwarts. The entire week had been one big wake up call, as she struggled to finish her homework and stay awake during her long, boring classes.

Luckily, James' bad mood had disappeared after the first few days back. He was now back to his usual grinning, stupid joke cracking self. However, Annalise still couldn't stop thinking about why he had been so pessimistic on the train in the first place. After a while of thinking about it, she decided to just let it go and move on.

She sat quietly at the Gryffindor table, munching on her breakfast. Monday's always sucked, and she hated going back to school after enjoying a weekend off. She had barely gotten any sleep last night, as she had put off her potions essay to the last minute as usual, and ended up struggling to stay awake and finish it.  James sat next to her, popping grapes into her mouth. Every other grape, however instead of eating it, he'd throw it at her. Another grape hit her forehead, bouncing off of it.

"Can. You. Stop it!" She snapped, smacking James on the head, as he burst into laughter.

"It's fun irritating you." He replied, popping another grape into his mouth.

"And it's fun punching you in the face." Annalise scowled. "But you don't see me doing that every second, do you?"

"You did back in first year." James snorted. Annalise couldn't stop the smile on her face. She spent half her time punching James back in first year. She had been a very violent 11 year old to say the least. Luckily, she had grown out of her violent phase, and rarely used her fist anymore.

"It's been a long time since then." Annalise replied, grabbing a grape from James' hand and shoving it in her mouth before he could throw it at her.

"When's our next apparition lesson again?" Roxy asked, looking up from the newspaper she was reading.

"Next sunday." Talia answered. "It's every sunday for the next twelve weeks."

Alex groaned. "Twelve weeks of that torture? No thanks."

"Alex, you have to learn how to apparate sometime or another." Talia tutted.

"Destination, Determination, and Deliberation!" Alex squealed, mocking the apparition instructor who had taught them yesterday.

"That's a load of crap." James snorted. "It didn't work at all."

"It takes time." Talia sighed, most likely tired of lecturing the boys as usual. "You're not going to get it on the first day."
