As their sixth year at Hogwarts begins, Annalise Wood and James Sirius Potter are at the peak of their rivalry. To say they hated eachother would be an understatement.
Although sometimes they brought out the worst in eachother, they also brought out...

"EVAN OFFICIALLY ASKED ME to the winter ball yesterday!" Talia said happily, as the three of them headed back to the Gryffindor common room after a long day of classes. "I know we were obviously going to go together, but it just feels special when he asks you regardless."
"Imagine having a stable, happy relationship." Roxy sighed, but with a smile on her face, showing her friend that she was happy for her.
"Talia really lucked out in boyfriends." Annalise huffed.
Talia shrugged nonchalantly, but she had a small smirk on her face. "What can I say. I have amazing taste in guys."
"So, who are you going to the ball with?" Roxy asked, her and Talia both turning their heads to stare at her.
Annalise bit her lip nervously. "I haven't really thought about that yet." Lies. It was the only damn thing on her mind.
"You're not going with James?" Talia raised an eyebrow.
Annalise shook her head. "No, we both agreed when we started this whole thing that we'd break up before the winter ball so we could go with different people."
"Have either you and James talked about this recently?" Roxy questioned, now mirroring the same confused expression plastered on Talia's face.
"No." Annalise laughed nervously, trying to play it off casually.
"Annalise!" Talia sighed, shaking her head. "Why exactly haven't you brought it up to James then?"
"I don't know!" She stuttered, not knowing what to say. "I just didn't want to be the one to bring it up. He can be the one to bring it up." She said defensively. She honestly didn't know why she hadn't talked to James about it either, but she certainly was not going to let Roxy and especially Talia know that. They would drive her crazy with her absurd assumptions.
Talia and Roxy simply turned to each other and shared a knowing look, one that Annalise could not read. "You know I can see you both!" She snapped.
"You guys better figure out if you're going to break up soon then." Talia advised. "There's just under two weeks until the winter ball, and I bet everyone's already asking who they want too."
"We will, don't worry." She nodded, hoping to shut down anymore of her friends questions. Although she knew for a fact, that she was not going to be the one to bring it up.
"Flobberworm." Talia said to the fat lady, whose portrait swung open. She followed her friends through the portrait hole and into the Gryffindor common room, which was packed with students as usual. Everyone would swarm to their respective common rooms as soon as classes ended.
"I really hope Alex asks me." Roxy said hopefully.
"He hasn't asked anyone else yet, so that's good news!" Talia offered, trying to give Roxy some more hope.
