TWENTY- FIVE
"THIS IS INSANE." Annalise breathed out, still taking in the magnificent kitchen around her."It's pretty cool." James grinned, as he starting walking into the kitchen. Annalise stopped staring and quickly followed him. James kept walking saying hello to a few of the house elves, who whispered hello back excitedly. He stopped in front of a small house elf who was washing off some dishes.
"Hi Tilly." James smiles, as the house elf excitedly hopped off of her stool.
"James Potter!" She cried happily, jumping up and down excitedly. James laughed, bending down to give the little house elf a hug.
"You think you could get us some pumpkin pasties once your down with your work for tonight?" James asked her kindly. Tilly nodded happily. "Oh and some butter beer too." James added, almost forgetting. He looked up at Annalise and narrowed his eyes. "Make that a lot of butter beer." Annalise let out a laugh, shaking her head.
Tilly went back to washing the rest of the dishes, as James led her through the kitchen. She looked over at the house elves, most of them finished with their cleaning and heading through another small door at the very end of the kitchen.
"They usually finish their work by 10:00 so we'll be alone." James said. "Their living quarters are attached to the kitchen." He explained, gesturing to the small door, as if he was reading her mind. He stopped at one of the shelves pulling out a bottle from the top shelf.
"And this is where we store our fire-whisky." James grinned grabbing two bottles. "Dorms are way too risky." They kept walking and stopped at the corner of the room with a fireplace and a small rug in front of it. James gestured her to join him, as he sat down on the rug.
She sat down, immediately feeling the warmth of the flames around her. "I love this." Annalise sighed happily. "It's so warm and cozy." It was a nice feeling to have after the day she had.
"That's exactly why me and the boys come down here after all our bad days." He leaned back against the wall. "After the good day's too."
"I can't believe none of you told me about this place before." Annalise huffed.
"To be fair, I did hate you." James snorted.
"And you don't hate me anymore?" She asked, raising her eyebrow, although she knew the answer. She just needed confirmation.
"No." James answered honestly. "I don't." Annalise couldn't help but smile at that. "But don't get me wrong you're still an annoying brat half the time." And with that smart ass statement, Annalise smacked his arm, and James just laughed.
"Fred told me about this place in my first year." James explained. "His dad told him about it even before he went to Hogwarts. Apparently my dad knew about it too, but he didn't tell me! I even had to smuggle the marauders map out of his desk in my second year to get it, and even then he was hesitant to give it to me."
