Summary: Kokichi lies to hide his feelings for Shuichi, Shuichi tries to break Kokichis wall resulting in a breakdown from Kokichi

Shuichi's pov
We've been in this sick place for about a month now; there's one boy here who's caught my eye this short purple haired boy Kokichi, Honestly him and Ryoma could probably have been the masterminds with how suspicious they are, I mean Rantaro could probably join but he seems to have good intentions plus him and Keade are together and Keade has a 6th sense for bad people, I don't know why but Kokichi's taken my interest more than the others he lies to his heart's content about the smallest to the biggest things part of me kind of finds it cute....I mean what... it's an instinct as an ultimate detective e-even though I'm not so sure why people call me that I'm not that good. . . anyway I need to find out what's up with him. I figure I have time before the night time announcment begins so I might as well go see him I walk over to his room and knock no reply I reach for his door knob but as I get there the door opens "Impatient are we Saihara~chan" The smaller boy speaks
"S-Sorry Ouma~kun I just got worried for a sec"
The younger boy speaks again "Awe my beloved Saihara was worried about me!!!! Also I already said call me Kokichi" the smaller teases
"S-Sorry Kokichi can I come in?"
"Sure let me just finish hiding Rantaros body"
He shuts the door and panic fills me before I can start overthinking Kokichi opens the door again "That was just a lie! Come in Saihara~chan"
I cautiously step inside, focus, remember what you're here for don't get distracted.
I sit next to Kokichi and turn to him it's quiet at first but of course the shorty decides to speak "So Mister detective what do you want I can tell you're thinking a lot do you want to interrogate me" Kokichi winks "Or are you here to confess to me" He dramatically gasps. Due to his sudden outburst a blush spreads across my face as I go to speak he interrupts me "That was just a lie my beloved Saihara" He smiles his cheeky grin but it seems less playful like a hint of hurt is behind it "A good detective like you could never fall for a supreme leader of an evil organisation like me" I analyse his face before I speak, it seems to be getting sadder by the second "But anyway what did you want? Here to murder me?"
I'm shocked for a second and decide it's time to talk "No I could never do that to you Kokichi" Before I continue speaking I catch glimpse of a board in his room with pictures of all of us I won't question how he got those but I notice my name is marked with "Trustworthy?" this will be useful to get more information from him with.
"May I ask w-what's the deal with you why do you lie all the time? Is there something you're hiding from the group s-sorry if it seems invasive but we're all in a life of death situation and if you know something, as a detective I need to know" I finally breath out realizing I didn't take a break whilst speaking, I finally look back at Kokichi who seems to be struggling for words after a minute of silence so he speaks.
"Wow for a detective you seem to be pretty shit at figuring people out" His words spit at me like acid "I want to be in this place as much as the next person no one wants to be in this place I don't know anything!" Kokichi starts fiddling with his pale hands "I just lie because" He hessites "It's what liars do" He regains that smirk I'm used to "That was all just a lie neeheehee! I love it here the atmosphere is amazing everyone's so scared"
I speak up "So you're lying..."
"Ahh~ about time the ultimate detective realized it" The purple haired boy turns to me "You must know I lie for a reason Shuichi" I blush in surprise realizing he called me by my name
"I mean I have some ideas but I want to know from you, no more lies just for 5 minutes please" I remember the board "You trust me right?"
Kokichi seems taken back "I do but I don't know how much is okay to say"
I gently take Kokichis hand into mine "Tell me as much as you want"
I notice Kokichi blush and for the first time I hear him stutter it's like music to my ears "I-I mean" he turns his head and regains a broken smile one I've seen many times "I'm not going to make it soppy when I was young my parents abandoned me and we're mentally abusive I won't go into it but I told my friends and they all took it to their advantage and broke me slowly. I ended up making a group, D.I.C.E to be exact my evil organisation... N-No I said I wouldn't lie. Saihara~chan I lie to stop myself from feeling vounrable, people can't hurt me if they dont know where it hurts." I look up at him and notice his lip quivering "W-We're not evil they're like my family we do harmless crimes but now they don't know where I am they're the only family I had they're probably worried sick..." I notice tears well up in his eyes... this is like a new side to Kokichi I've never seen without thinking I pull him into my arms and I here little whimpers and sniffles from the smaller boy

"P-Please don't tell anyone S-Shuichi" I stroke his hair "I won't Kokichi I promise" I pull him into my lap as the night time announcement plays I stand up and tuck him into bed "Kokichi we'll talk in the morning sleep well" I hear muffled cries from the shorter male "I'll get my organisation to kill you if you tell anyone" Kokichi lets out a forced laugh followed by a cry as I close the door

Shuichis pov: I can't sleep I need to make sure Kokichi's okay I make my way over to his room and knock I hear a quiet voice "T-The doors not locked" I walk in the room and lock the door behind me "I hope it's Shuichi but if it's not can you at least make my death quick" Part of me wants to laugh
"It's okay it's just me" Kokichi jumps out the covers and jumps on me "MY BELOVEDDDD" I giggle and hold onto him holding him in my arms "Kokichi it's 2am you should be asleep! a-and quiet down!"
"So should you Mister detective" I blush taken back for a moment, he'll never stop the teasing will he "But I guess we were both up for the same reason" We both speak "I was thinking about you" I smile warmly as the smaller speaks "That was just a lie I was thinking about Panta I haven't had some in like forever" I scruff his hair and lay him in bed getting under the covers with him "I genuinely can't tell if you're lying or not" I feel Kokichi wrap his body around me and I blush
"Nehehe~ You'll never know I am a good liar aren't I mister detective?"
I pat his head "Yes you are" I stroke his soft purple hair till I hear quiet little breaths from him... Heh I guess he is pretty cute after all.
