Every moment seems an eternity as I close my eyes and wait. There is no noise in my ears but the beating of my heart. Every ounce of me longs to feel those cool scales on my hand and every moment that I don't my heart sinks.
My heart goes back to the day I first met Toothless. How my Daddy showed Nuffink and me how to train a dragon. I could almost feel Toothless's leathery hide on my hand and I remember how it tickled my heart.
I remember flying on him with my Daddy. That was the most wonderful time I had ever had... And still is. On the back of my Daddy's dragon with his arm around me to hold me on, I felt so safe and so happy.
If only Toothless could love me too.
Wait! What!? I feel cold dragon scales on my hand and I don't think I am imagining it! I open my eyes and glance to the side. There he is with his head against my hand. He purrs at me and in my heart I know that meant. "Any daughter of Hiccup's is like a daughter to me."
Tears frame my eyes. I can't believe it! Here I am standing in front of Toothless my Daddy's dragon whom I have just trained. "Oh Toothless!" I cry and I run into his scaly body and give all I have on a huge hug. "I love you so much!" He purrs and nuzzles me with his big scaled face.
"Nuffink look!" I cry calling to my brother. I turn around but there's nobody there. "Nuffink?" I call. I smirk as the top half of his head appears from behind a rock.
"Nuffink it's okay! He's a friend." Nuffink slinks out from behind the rock and creeps over to us. "Here, just put out your hand and close your eyes." I say helping him out his hand out. "Let him come to you."
Quickly Toothless puts his head to Nuffink's outstretched hand and Nuffink looks up in amazement.
"Wow! Oh my... He ... I actually did it!" He cries.
"You sure did!" I laugh. My heart is soaring right now and I know deep down that this will make Daddy and Mommy so happy if only we can pull it off
