16. Why are you here

James Dayton's P.O.V

I try to speak, to say something, but the shook of hearing the familiar voice once again makes me remain on my spot with my mouth open.

Turning my attention to the person who said my name, I can feel Aria's gaze on my face.

Licking my lip and closing my eyes for a few seconds, inhaling and exhaling, trying to calm down, I open them again.

I expect to see the kids playing around with each other in the swings.

But I don't expect to see the pair of legs situated in front of me, and his eyes on me.

"Father? What are you doing here?"

He left again with business, for a few months, leaving our family again.

The question remains unanswered a few seconds, but when I hear his deep voice again I jump.

"I just wanted to see you and your mother. I was heading towards our house."

Our? I can't believe after what he does to our family he still thinks that house is also his.

"Don't ever call that house yours, ever again. It was bought with my money, and my mom's money. You weren't even there. You left with business that time again, like all the time."

I can tell by the look on their faces that I shooked them with my harsh words, but I am tired to play games with this man.

A moment he is here, the following father is again leaving. Probably cheating on my mom or something. He can't have that much work to do in another city. Maybe he goes out with someone?

I don't understand why they didn't divorce by now, all it must be done is sign a contract, a piece of paper and it's done. Their marriage is destroyed anyway.

We would be free.

But I think my mom still loves him, even if his feelings are directed towards another thing. Work.

"I don't want to fight. Come with me home." Father grips my hand but I take it from his grasp, with disgust.

I don't know where his hands were before he arrived here. When I get home, I'll need to wash that place where he grabbed me.

Looking at Aria, she is questioning me with her expression. Are you okay? Do you really want to go? I can tell this is what she would ask if my father would leave us alone for a few seconds.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." I say with hate in voice, trying to make him understand I don't want to have anything to do with him anymore.

All the things would be better if he would leave us alone. Forever.

"I'll wait for you." With that, he turns around and makes his way towards the car, his sport car.

Mom gets a lot of money from work, but it doesn't even compare to my father's money. The sport car makes everyone realize this.
