Jamie

"This heart, it beats, beats for only you. My heart - my heart is yours."

I sit up on the bed and smile at Patrick as he finished up drumming the end of the song. I love that one so much. Note to self: add Paramore to my current Spotify playlist. I haven't listened to them in a while, especially their older stuff.

"Jamie? You have some visitors." I startle at the sound of Lola's voice. She's standing in the door way, leaning against the door frame smiling at Patrick and me. I wonder how long she's been there. She loves watching Patrick play, so of course she would wait until he was done before interupting us.

She smiles at me kindly before stepping out in to the hall, and the next thing I see is Aubrey, John and Kim rushing into the room directly towards me. They all look ecstatic.

"Ohmygod, girl! You look good! And you sounded amazing just now! I am so thrilled!" Aubrey exclaims as she sits down next to me on the bed.

"You actually look so fucking good!" Kim says, sitting down next to me on the other side of the bed. "Besides this arm, how is it? Is it broken? Are you gonna be able to play guitar?"

"Good to see you up and about, Jamie." John says kindly, moving away from the door frame and revealing... Zach. What the hell is he doing here?

"You look good." Zach mumbles, before looking around the room awkwardly. He probably feels very out of place being here, but that's not my issue. Why is he here, though? With Kim?

"Are you two..?" I look between him and Kim. They don't bite, so I go on. "On speaking terms now?"

"Yeah, we are." Kim tells me softly. "We saw the accident, Jamie. It was awful. I was fucking terrified. And Zach was there. He's been awesome."

She smiles at him from across the room, and I look at Aubrey. She gives me a small smile, confirming that she's on board with whatevers going on here. That's good enough for me.

"I really wanted to see you. I hope it's okay that I'm here." Zach says quietly. He's standing just outside the room, he must feel so out of his depth.

"Of course it is, thanks Zach." I reply.

"Yeah, come on, get in here." Patrick chimes in from behind his drum kit. He can tell I wanna be okay with Zach now. Thanks, P.

Zach enters the room and stands beside John, smiling at me. Or Kim? I can't really tell. Probably Kim.

"So what about this arm then?" Aubrey asks me, looking me over again.

"It's not broken, thank god." I inform them. "It's just gonna be out of action for a few weeks or something. I can't really feel it. I got awesome medication from the hospital."

The guys all laugh at me. What? It's true. I am feeling these pain killers.

"I'm so glad you're okay, seriously." Kim says with a sigh. "I'm never gonna unsee the moment that truck hit your car."

"It was fucking scary." Zach adds.

"Sorry you guys had to see that. I'm gonna be a much more conscientious driver from now on."

"You're not getting behind a wheel anytime soon, Hawkins." Patrick says, deadpan. "I don't care how fancy your new car is. You need to go somewhere? One of us will take you."

"Patrick..."

"No objections." He comes back firmly. "You can't drive with that arm anyway."

"You got a new car already?" John asks curiously.
