It was quiet at Kota's as Victor slipped in the back door, heading up to his room. They had things to do today so it was best if they got going early. He paused in the doorway, studying the lump in the bed. Figures. Lazy still in bed. He tilted his head, calculating the leap he was going to make.

"Wake up!" He called out as he landed with a thud on him. He chuckled softly as Kota began to struggle against his grip as he held him down. "The sun is shining, and the world is spinning without you." He froze as the blanket slipped and he found himself staring at a blonde, green eyed girl.

"Who..." She blinked up at him, frozen.

"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you." The words flew from Victor as he sang to her. His eyes widened and he immediately let go of her and scrambled away, almost falling off the bed in his haste.

"Didn't ask you to." She mumbled, sitting up and clutching the blankets up to her chest as she stared at him. This was some strange alternate reality, right? It couldn't possibly be normal for strangers to attack her and sing to her. Granted the first time was an attack dog but still. This was... odd.

"You're not Kota." Victor finally found a voice to speak with.

A laugh sounded behind him. "No, she's not." Kota said from where he was leaning against the doorway. "Sang, this is one of my bro...best friends, Victor Morgan. Victor, Sang..."

"Sorenson." She filled in, stretching slightly and extending a hand. "Nice to meet you, Victor Morgan."

Victor ran a hand over the back of his head before leaning over and shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you too. And I'm sorry for jumping on you. I thought you were Kota being lazy."

Her eyes flitted around the room, looking for something before she shrugged. "It's okay." She mumbled.

"It's not really okay, I'll have to turn in my southern gentleman's card for it. It's a HUGE infraction against how you're supposed to treat a lady."

Sang rubbed her nose. "I won't tell." She said. "I don't even know where you start to report that sort of infraction. It certainly never came up back home in Illinois."

Victor tilted his head slightly as Kota jumped in. "I was moving your laundry from the washer to the dryer. It looks like it came out fairly clean."

"Okay. Thanks." She said. "I do have some other stuff in my bag."

"Your shoes aren't available though. They're still really wet." Kota said.

"Hang on... what happened here?" Victor interrupted, pointing a finger between them. Sang blushed a brilliant shade of fuchsia.

Kota rolled his eyes. "Nothing happened. Max broke his leash and knocked her down in the street last night when it first started to rain. She was muddy and miserable, and I didn't want her to get in trouble at home, so I brought her here." He nodded at the pull-out bed. "Nothing underhanded happened, dad." He teased.

"Oh!" Victor blushed. "I didn't mean to insinuate."

Sang gave them both a brief smile. "It's okay. I think I'll just borrow the bathroom and then I can always walk home barefoot. It would probably be easiest to get back in." she said, almost to herself.

"Okay, sure." Kota said, bringing her backpack to her. "There's extra toothbrushes and combs in the top drawer, help yourself." He said.

Both he and Victor averted their gaze as Sang slipped out of bed, taking her backpack with her as she slipped into the bathroom. Victor put his hand on Kota's shoulder. "Did you sing to her?" He demanded.

Kota sighed before nodding. "Did you sing to her?" he demanded in just as much of an attitude as Victor had given him.

"Yeah." Victor ran his hand over his hair again. "Did you tell Mr. Blackbourne?"

"No. I wasn't sure how to approach it." Kota admitted. "I may have only known her for 12 hours, but I like her. I don't want to see her as someone who could tear us apart."

"And you couldn't have been sure that it wasn't a fluke, or some sort of subliminal suggestion based on the earlier conversation last night." Victor said.

"Exactly." Kota nodded. "But now that it's two, we have to tell him, right?"

Victor shrugged. "Maybe it could wait until this afternoon. We were going to go to the mall with Silas. We could invite her and see what happens."

Kota mulled it over for a moment. "We could." He finally said. "Worse case scenario she says no."

Victor smiled as Sang came out of the bathroom. "Hey."

She gave him a look, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Hey." She returned.

"Kota... Is that Victor, I hear up there with you?"

Sang startled and stared at Kota with wide eyes. "Yeah, Mom. He just came in." Kota yelled back down the stairs.

"Is he eating with us? I just want to make sure there's enough pancakes."

"We'll be right down."

"I should go." Sang said, eyes panicked. "I shouldn't have stayed this long."

"Stay." Kota said to her. "It's just my mom and sister. You can meet them. She was saying something about wanting to meet the new neighbors."

"I shouldn't."

"You can." Victor said softly. "And we're going to the mall with a friend. Do you want to come with us?"

"I shouldn't do that either." Was her quiet reply as the three of them headed downstairs. "But apparently, moving to Charleston means I'm going to be doing a lot of things I shouldn't do."
