II- The President's Wife

Tantananan. Tananantantan.

There were no trumpets. It just feels like there are, by how festive the day for the company was.

Employees were impressively early. They're excited to see the President's wife, their new Vice President. Thrilled, for it had always been the President and the Chairman since the heiress took the throne.

They're looking forward to work with a new and refreshing face, not that President Jennie Kim's face is too familiar and boring. They're just too intimidated with the air of authority surrounding the President with her expressionless beautiful face that they're dying to see a friendly one.

Chattering stopped when the automatic sliding glass door opened wide, followed by the entourage of the power couple along with their body guards and executive staffs.

Imagine the supremacy.

As usual, the President walked elegantly, acknowledging the greetings from her employees without responding. Beside her was the jolly Vice President greeting them back enthusiastically, smiling so wide it could rip her face.

The employees fell in love with her at the very moment she had entered the building. How charming, they thought.

Lisa, even though her father is a great clever businessman, has not shown any amount of interest for their business. It just so happened that the legacy of her beloved sick father is at risk if she didn't heed the urgent call of her destiny. And that is why she fully agreed to the 'business deal' hurting her boyfriend's feelings by the absolute decision.

But for her, love conquers all. So she's confident she'd get out of the deal unharmed and live happily ever after with him, the love of her life.

They finally entered the elevator, and employees' life went back to normal.

"Have you always been that rude?!Who do you think you are to ignore them?! God?!! They're greeting you politely for Pete's sake!" The Vice President whisper-shouted at the President, pulling the latter's sleeve causing the executive staffs to glance at them, then looked away quickly with a horrified expression.

"I am not. I just can't afford to spend energy when an eye contact could suffice. Besides, you've already consumed a lot of my energy this morning." The President responded, stating the last sentence evidently slow for the Vice President to remember, earning mental gasps from their executive staffs.

Guilty as fuck, the Vice President just shut her mouth.

For those whose mind is as dirty as the executive staffs, President Kim spent her energy waking her sleepy-headed wife almost leaving her behind, thankfully President Kim has a very compassionate heart. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

The elevator took forever in an awkward silence for the staffs but for the Kims, it's just normal, with Lisa conjuring a retaliation as always. Until it finally stopped at the executive floor.

Lisa couldn't care less about the aesthetics because payback is life but returned to earth when Jennie broke the silence.

"You may go now to your office, secretary Kang will attend to you. If you need me just call Secretary Choi." President Kim stated and was about to leave when the Vice President grabbed her arm and entangled the latter's own with hers.

"Can I borrow my wife for a minute or two before we start working? You may go to your places now." Lisa flirted with her wife around their secretaries which earned nods and stifled giggles.

The clueless President just furrowed her brows and followed her persistent Vice to a secluded area where no one could hear them.

"I think I've already told you to be professional and to not use your position for privilege. It has only been your first day and you're already disobeying me." President Kim remarked displeased, with poise.

"Yes, I know. And we have agreed that you'll teach me everything. So why are you using others for that? Are you making this deal thing longer than it was supposed to be? I have a boyfriend waiting for me and you know that!" Another raging whisper shout for the President was shot.

The usual cool and collected demeanor of the President broke and an eye-roll have been executed.

"You cannot learn how to run a company in a day or two.
Our employees and this empire's future is in your hands, so quit acting like a birdbrain and learn to consider other people's time and energy. This is far more important than your love life." The President scoffed, pissed, v done, annoyed, slapping reality at her offended, fighter for love Vice President's face.

"Silly me, how could I expect a living dead like you to understand what love is? You don't even have a life outside your office, I pity that poor girl who dated you. You are boring." Lisa blew below the belt, the President's eyes widened, eyebrows rose for a second.

Proud Lisa made Jennie Kim speechless, winning an argument for the first time. But she knows Jennie would never let her get away that easy.

Vice now was all riled up for countering any of the Presidents' rebuttal, regarding all of it senseless.

"Just do your best. Good luck." And without a second look the President made her way to her office, leaving Lisa dumbfounded.

It's like leaving her just in time before the climax, hot and bothered. The President's calmness killed her, she knew she lost the argument once again.

But then, the Vice President just shrugged it off and gracefully made her way to her own office with a big smile greeting the staffs, thinking retaliation can wait but not the future of her empire.
