"Can you stop making that face? It's starting to get on my nerves Jennie Kim!"
Yes. That's Jennie's reply. Act like you love me. Pft. as iiif..
"You could just tell her I'm not affectionate in public, she'd definitely believe that." Jennie still making that face.
Frustrated, Lisa released her grip on her wife, stepping back. She didn't get to savor the proximity due to her raging blood pressure.
"You know, I don't get you. Why can't you just cooperate with me instead of saying stupid things? I'm trying to protect you here, or you really just don't want to?"
Oohhh. Ight Imma out.
Jennie then fixed herself feeling her wrists if still attached. Then smiled sweetly at her wife.
"I truly appreciate you protecting me Lisa, but you don't have to do anything at your expense. I can handle this."
"HaNdLe???!!!! You looked at her like you wanna jump in her arms! And you won't regret it again.... right?" Lisa softened at the last word afraid of the confirmation.
"I told you I don't regret anything, but I didn't say I would be willing to do it twice in a single lifetime." Jennie grinned at still suspicious Lisa.
"All I need is your trust." Jennie stared at her wife's eyes as if telling she has nothing to be afraid of. And Lisa nodded, getting the message without the use of words.
Lisa then opened the cubicle and they both walked back to their seats like normal people do.
--------------------
Lisa, even though she trusted her wife's words and eyes, finds the sight of the ex-lovers unbearable. And she's in the middle of their shits allowing her to see both sides with precision.
The subtle touches, initiated by Chaeyoung of course, across the table, Jennie's eyes never denying the admiration for her ex-lover, and the smiles bearing untold stories of their past love made it feel that it was still there. Made it feel that it would always be there.
Lisa didn't know if it's still right for her to be there. If it's right to protect her wife from something she knew would destroy her but makes her feel whole. She wanted to concede. She wanted to give up not even knowing what she's fighting for. But then she felt a hand on her own.
"Hon, why don't you tell Ms. Park of what you're intending to alter in the proposal?" Jennie turned to her with an encouraging smile.
Startled Lisa stuttered first, but then relived her enthusiasm with Jennie's hand never leaving hers, under the dining table.
After the inspiring, igniting, moving, talk in which Jennie and Chaeyoung was really drawn into, with slips of the endearment, it finally sounded natural. As if it's their endearment in their past lives and, they were wives too.
------------------
The lunch ended formally, civil, humane and to sum it all, it was a prosperous deal they've promised to have. It was all about the proposal and the points that needed improvement. Jennie just have to be always around the two to prevent mental murders. Luckily, they separated with no casualties and the wives now were on their way back to their empire, taking the same car.
"I thought we don't have to act?" Lisa blurted out feigning annoyance, as if she did not melt at the sound of Jennie's voice calling her 'hon'.
"I did not."
"So what's the 'Hon' 'Hon' for?"
"You started it." Jennie replied with a smug smirk.
"Really? Or you just want to make your ex jealous?"
"I believe it's immature to purposely make someone jealous, that's a waste of energy. It would be more practical if you'd just kiss the sense out of that person you're supposed to be making jealous." Amused Jennie replied eyeing the now raging Lisa.
"Then why didn't you kiss her?" Lisa asked watching the moving scene outside the car with no particular subject.
"Would you let me?"
Lisa then snapped her neck back, looking at her wife in disbelief.
"Of course not! Not in front of me!!!" Lisa rolled her eyes at her wife then bring her non-existing attention to the outside scene.
"Then it wouldn't be possible." Jennie mumbled still wearing the mischievous smirk.
When Lisa got tired of looking at blank space to vent her frustration at, she then pretended to check her phone she's dodging since forever.
Lot of texts. Lot of missed calls. All from her boyfriend for ages, Bambam.
She can't even look at any of it. She doesn't have the courage nor the energy to do so. She knew it's wrong. She knows there's something wrong. But she can't face it. She's afraid of finding out the reason why. No. She's afraid the reason she's thinking is true. And she's more than afraid to face that.
A message then popped up forcing her to face shits.
My Everything
I'm flying home tom., meet me at *toot* I'll be waiting babe. I love you. I miss you so much.
She cursed herself. She doesn't know that place, not even how to get there. Damn.
