A/FN: My apologies for all the freaking dramas you've endured from the last chapters. Wait for the divorce. BWAHAHA. U thought this fanfic is all mushy fluff and a happy ending huh?

Bish, me too.

So let's start with CEO Jennie Kim walking through solemnity escorted by her guards, still captivating hearts even with tired eyes. And on the topmost list of encaptured hearts is of course, none other than her awestruck wife, Vice President Lisa Kim.

A moment of eye-locking from across the room had made Lisa doubt whose familiar eyes she's staring at.

Strange. Desolate.

Wearing the business-like smile, her wife shook hands with some people paying respect for her late father-in-law with Lisa on the side, hiding the uneasiness away from her own weary soul.

Lisa kept stealing glances from the person acting her wife. Days had been a long while not having a perfect view of this flawless face. And the last clear memory of it was the exchange they had before she left with her hysterical ex-gf, with eyes bearing the promise of everything will be alright.

Now, it seemed like even a ghost of any promises had never once been held by those eyes.

Lisa knew very well that she hasn't come clean. She's not clean anyways. But instead of making the negative feelings redundant, she had manged to look at the bigger awful picture. It was her wife's father lying there lifeless, still having an unsettled tryst with his only child all thanks to their new business partner. And the father and child's business would now forever be unfinished.

She tried not to think of anything else but there are some visitors who reminded her of some people she knew. The strongest resemblance was the person who caught her cheating on a Math exam, to top it off, her professor she's crushing on.

I did not cheat, I was making sure of my answer.

No one asked, but sure Jan. Her smile grew wider at the memory, as the doppelganger of her professor approached their seat.

Bam's answer was going Japan, how did I ever fall in love with him?

The train of inappropriate thoughts for the grave occasion halted when she felt an arm snaking her waist. That's when she noticed the fine-aged man in front of her and shook hands with him, still amused at her own thoughts.

Jennie's arm was hooked at her wife, like it's necessary, as she exchanged short formal greetings with the politician who's now looking as if he had been caught red-handed. While Lisa was there jumping internally out of sheer joy from her acknowledged presence.

And after all that, they returned to being, and I quote,

"So close together, so far apart" -Sledgehammer, Fifth Harmony.

Awkward Lisa knows how to cheer herself up even in the most inappropriate situations she's been unknowingly putting herself into. But to do this for another person is like watching a candle burn while being soaked in gasoline, painfully waiting for her own time to explode.

She's not good in comforting people. Doesn't know what to say or do. Or if it's even proper to say or do that. So she just held her wife's hand, to make her feel that she's there. Beside her. Breathing.

For a second, Jennie's countenance broke at the unexpected contact, but won the battle of not looking back at her wife, knowing that the guard she had built would all fall down at the the sight of those faithful eyes.

Before Lisa could explode, the best cousin-in-law, Jisoo, convinced them to go home and take a rest. Insisted that her family would take care of the funeral for the meantime.

Excitement crept on Lisa's system. She'll be left alone with her wife.

Bitch, her intentions were pure.

Even if her grip was never returned by her taciturn wife, whose silence was blaring in her ears throughout the limousine ride, the coldness never bothered her anyway; it's only her warmth she could offer best.

And the dinner was as loud as of that in the limousine's, only they're five feet apart, but Lisa felt the distance was from pole to pole, earth to sun, light-years away from her star.

She just continued counting rice, and eating it occasionally.

"We need to talk. Meet me in the office whenever you're ready."

Lisa's head bolted up, like a newborn baby who just finding her new senses, to see Jennie Kim standing on her feet.

"What? Me?"

Jennie's sure she said it out loud but she still nodded and left the dining table with dumbfounded Lisa.

Damn it!

Really damn her heart for beating fast and her mind thinking slow she hadn't had the chance to get hold of her shits. Wondering what's the talk about and smiled at the memory of her wife's face claiming her in front of the handsome man.

Tss. No need to be jealous, I would never cheat. I'm sure you're my answer.

And she could still giggle with that assuming thoughts.

To be continued....
