"Your progress is agonizingly slow, Lalisa. I hope you didn't forget--"

"I didn't, Dad. And please don't tell me what to do. I'm already a part of this deal and the least you could do is to trust me do my thing. At my own pace."

It was a knock from her loving mother, because her father wanted to talk to her in a room where no one could hear them.

It's only been the first five hours of the day but Lisa was already hyped up. Don't be like Lisa, you shouldn't talk back to your parents.

Lisa wasn't expecting to see them today. She knew he was always busy to even remember birthdays and her mom was just ok with his antics.

Her father just smiled at her like a proud Dad that enraged Lisa more.

"Lisa I'm not growing any younger, it's either you'll make her fall for you before the deal is over or I'll take the matters to my own hands. Mark my words."

With that, the CEO turned for her mother as a signal that they have to go now. Her mom just looked at Lisa helplessly, the lady had always been supportive of her husband even she knew he's up to no good.

Lisa just rolled her eyes so hard and walked back swiftly to her wife's room.

-----------------------

Lisa returned to an empty room only to find out that her wife was already preparing for breakfast with her grandparents-in-law. She can't help but be amused at the innocent face of her little wife. It's evident that she's new to everything, she's a rich kid after all.

'Make her fall for you.'

Hilarious, Lisa thought. She just smiled and joined them ruin the kitchen.

Lisa was closer to them than her own parents. She badly wanted this simple life then, as if being born rich is a curse. So, whenever she's here, she's savoring every moment.

Lisa's father unfortunately barged in the kitchen with a huge fake smile plastered on his face.

"Pa, we must go now. Just tell the guards where you want to place the gifts. Don't carry them yourself, you might break your back."

The elders looked sad but they knew their son well, his words are absolute.

He looked at Jennie and bowed business-like. And for the first time, Jennie felt inappropriate. His father-in-law is such a joy absorber, she thought.

Good thing is, he carried his dark aura away with him after hugging the unimpressed Lisa.

They continued their laughter with Lisa's naughty childhood tales as if the subject wasn't there with them. They made Jennie feel like one of their own. The Jennie who often shy away from meeting new people especially when it's not for business, was now genuinely laughing and smiling with them, melting everyone's heart with her cuteness.

--------------------

"Come here again on your free time Nini, and don't wait for another birthday. Don't forget you're always welcome here. Don't starve yourself, ok?" Lisa's teary-eyed grandmother hugged Jennie lovingly. And Jennie was quiet, overwhelmed by her new nickname given by her in laws.

While Lisa's grandfather's arm was on Lisa's shoulders, they're watching the two women in their lives bid goodbyes to each other for the nth time. Still admiring the sight with contented eyes.

After what it feels like forever, the couple was now on their way home, with Jennie back to her usual self. Quiet and collected, looking outside. For a moment, Lisa felt like she did something wrong. Are they back to square one again?--Lisa's on going thoughts while watching the outside scenery as if she's on a heartbreaking music video. Until she felt a weight on her shoulder.

It was Jennie's head leaning. Lisa disregarded her heart's palpitation and supported her wife's head with her own hand.

Her loud beating heart is stronger than the sore creeping up her neck, but she was worried Jennie's neck might be sore too considering their position.

She held both her wife's cheeks and unknowingly leveled her face to hers, and bitch, their eyes met.

As if an ice bucket with Atlantic Ocean's water was poured on Lisa's head, she felt her hands suddenly became numb and cold, in the proximity of their faces.

She shrugged her panic off and focused on her wife's sad eyes instead.

"I already miss them." Jennie mumbled as if she heard the question from Lisa's eyes.

"We'll go there next time. No guards." Lisa assured her wife with huge grin in false bravado but the truth is Jennie's sad eyes weakened her, she wanted to see the gummy smile again.

"You know how?" Jennie shot an innocent question, unbothered with the proximity of their faces.

"That's what you're with me for."

Mission accomplished. Lisa finally saw the gummy smile again. Little did they know, the driver and some guards were subtly watching them with heart eyes.
