They've finally found their destination in the middle of the woods. A small medieval tavern illuminated by golden lights. And the usual quiet Jennie Kim was redundantly lost for words. Jennie's eyes glimmered as she roamed it around the majestic tavern. She felt like she just visited the place where no one's as manly as Gaston.
Meanwhile, in the real world...
Lisa greeted the big man in the counter with a huge hug.
"Kiiiid! I'm so proud of you, you got lost here agaaain! And whatchu got there.... a frieeeeend!!" The big man talked animatedly like the genie in Aladdin.
"Tss. Stop acting like you didn't know yours is my favorite place to get lost at." Lisa pretended to be pissed but she's really happy that she saw this man again.
"Jennie, this is Hans." Lisa snapped Jennie out of daze. Then her wife smiled business-like and stretched her hand out.
Hans flexed his bulky biceps before reaching Jennie's hand, pulling out a Flynn Rider swag. "Hiiiiiiiigh." Hitting the bottom-line of the treble clef.
"Hans, this is Jennie, my wife."
Hans gradually withdrew his hand, defeated. He looked like he was about to cry but then moved on quick and smiled as big as him.
"What a lovely couple!!!!!!!!!" He shrieked clapping slightly jumping with joy gaining glances from few customers there. He cleared his throat and in a Buzz Light-year voice he said,
"Welcome, this place serves light to people getting lost in the woods,..and booze too." He spread his arms wide then draped it around the couple's shoulder. He then, lead the two to a vacant table and pulled chairs for them.
"As a treat for you lovelies, I'll give you my best-seller booze for half the price. You know I love you imp, but business is business." He was now back being a genie and the imp was Lisa.
Jennie nodded with all decency, Lisa just playfully rolled her eyes at her friend then whispered something to him as he nodded exaggeratedly with his huge smile.
Jennie let Lisa decide what to eat because the latter was boasting how she's well accustomed to the non-existent menu. And, when all was said and done, he then waved goodbye to the couple acting as if he's Winnie the Pooh.
"I honestly appreciate this place but I'm afraid I can't have any amount of alcohol for tonight." Jennie politely rejected the 'best-seller' booze sold half its original price.
"I'm telling you, you'll be missing half of your life." Lisa shrugged at her wife who's still carrying the President aura. "It's better than any of Jisoo's margarita."
Lisa still cringe whenever she remembers the encounter and how fate made a fool out of her.
"I don't deal well with alcohol. I won't drink in a place I won't sleep at."
"That's why I'm here with you. Wait. After coming here with me, you still don't trust me? Ouch!" Lisa feigned offended covering her heart with both hands.
"I've made a mistake once, I won't do it again." Jennie answered trying hard to conceal a smile but Lisa caught it.
Lisa was surprised to see Jennie smiling other than the usual business-like and her 'you're dumb' smirk but she just shrugged it off to make her wife feel comfortable.
Lisa was about to tease her again to see more of that smile but Hans came back with a handful of tasty goods and the booze of a lifetime.
Hans then whispered something in her ear and again bid goodbyes to them gracefully.
After dining, whereas Jennie ate with elegance while Lisa treated the booze like drinking water, Lisa guided her wife to who knows where.
"Lisa are you drunk? Where are we going?" Jennie asked again, full of distrust.
"M' not. Trust meeeee." The widespread grin on Lisa's face didn't help.
"I feel like I'm gonna die whenever I'm with you." Jennie deadpanned while giddy Lisa's hands were on her shoulders pushing her towards the unknown.
"Don't worry, you have me." Lisa changed their position, now pulling Jennie's hand as they took the staircase. "I'll report for you."
Jennie repressed the smile creeping on her face, shaking her head. "Thank you for being reliable."
When they reached the end of the staircase, Lisa opened the door excitedly then inhaled all the fresh air she could.
Jennie roamed her eyes around realizing it was an almost abandoned rooftop if not for the blankets and pillows neatly spread on the floor. She's not even sure, for her eyes were slowly adjusting from the bright golden lights of the tavern to this place lighted only by the moon and stars.
"I just want to breathe, we won't be long." Lisa assured Jennie followed by a long sigh of relief. "It's been a while."
To be continued....
