The Vice President was busy reviewing files with the Director. Busy chatting while reviewing company files. Talking about nonsense again and some gossips no one knows how Jisoo acquired.
Lisa was honestly entertained but whenever she remembered her wife won't lunch with her today for some meeting at to no one knows where part of the country, she would become quiet; very unusual.
No, they still don't share bed because Lisa's heart beats wild every time Jennie's around and a whole lot stronger when she's near Lisa. She decided not to, because she might be dead before the deal was over if that happened again.
A knock ended their very productive conversation and a secretary came in.
"Excuse me Vice President Kim, the chairman wants to meet you for lunch. Thank you." Then the secretary walked back gracefully.
Lisa was nervous. This is the first time she would meet her father-in-law after the marriage. Jisoo added that the chairman takes lunch with the President when he's here, and that's very rare. The lunch and him being here.
----------------------
The limousine ride was agonizingly awkward. She doesn't know how to act near him. While the Chairman, was just wearing his friendly smile.
Of course, Lisa knew the history, but would the Chairman repeat it with her? Ok, he's really hot and handsome. He matured well. He looked like Albert Martinez in Kadenang Ginto, but no. She's married to his daughter.--Assuming Lisa jumping from conclusion to conclusion, taking no rest in between until they arrived at the restaurant when she first saw Jennie.
They started eating and all, and dead silence surrounded both of them. The Chairman was still smiling friendly at her. It's getting creepier.
"Lisa." "Shit-" She was startled, she's not responsible for that.
The handsome chairman chuckled very similar with Jennie. She should be apologizing for her mouth by now but she prioritized missing her wife more, as if they won't see each other in their house later.
"I see, you're not comfortable with my presence." The way they talk is very much the same too.
"Chairman I'm-"
"I want to request something from you, Lisa."
Lisa's heart thumped as if it's just beside her ears. Different scenarios were playing on her mind. But she couldn't do it. He's handsome, but she loves his daughter. What? Love? Where did that came from? She just want to be friends with her. She stopped these nonsense thoughts and was about to express her strong disagreement but--
"I'm asking you to take care of my daughter."
All the raging energy escaped Lisa's body after this sentence.
"I'm not getting any younger Lisa, I've been feeling a lot of symptoms as a sign of. I'm just honestly worried about my daughter, she has no friends I knew of."
Lisa heard this line many times, she wondered for a moment if it's young ones fault elders getting older.
"I know it's just a deal, but I took it as a way for my daughter to have someone to take care of. To have someone to look for. I-I just thought she's still not over it. Y-yeah, it's been a while. And it's my fault." The handsome Chairman, pretended to clean his glasses as he stuttered.
Lisa couldn't process what he just said right away but when she did, her face seeks revenge from Hades.
"No Lisa. I'm not asking you to be with her all her life. The deal would stay as it is. I'm just asking you to genuinely look for her as long as you're married. I'll just add something.."
He brought out an envelope from his suitcase and showed it to Lisa.
"I'll give you 20% of my property in my will, and you can add anything you want. Maybe it's pathetic to buy a friend for my daughter but--"
"It's pathetic, sir."
With all due respect for the Chairman, Lisa cut his good-humored sentence, stressing every. single. word.
She imagined how this man bought Jennie's first and only love just to break her heart for the sake of reputation. And now he's back at it again.
"I'll take care of her because I want to not because someone asked me to. And don't worry about you're daughter sir, she could have genuine friends if she wants to, she's not as heartless as you." Lisa stood up indignantly.
"She'll be fine." And Lisa dramatically walked out of the restaurant, taking a cab to no one knows where.
