"That's offensive." Jennie replied softly snickering, they shouldn't be heard, elders sleep early.
"I thought you're asleep. You deserve an Oscar for that." Lisa replied controlling her giggle.
"I want to, but you move your long limbs a lot." Jennie replied smiling her eyes still closed.
"I told you I could use the floor if you're not comfortable." She added now opening her eyes and for a moment, Lisa couldn't comprehend what her wife was saying.
And out of nowhere,
"I remember when we first met, I thought you were as tall as me." Lisa continued looking at Jennie with her big friendly smile.
"You stand like you're six-feet-tall, and walk like you own the place." Lisa added with soft giggles.
"I own the place." Jennie added smiling, recalling the first day they met in a restaurant for the business deal. "Did I look like Lucifer to you then?"
"No you're hot.. No..not. I mean not." Stuttering Lisa's heart was pounding too hard to think of right words to say.
"Y-You just like..like have this dark...aura in you." Lisa tried to save her ass, but oops, Jennie's face became dark too.
"What do you think of me then?" A nice detour by Lisa.
"You're uncontrollable and it's a challenge." Jennie answered and finally smiled again.
"I'm asking about your first impression not the facts."
"It is. And you smell trouble from afar."
"Then why the ever so secure President Kim took trouble as her lawfully wedded wife?"
"It was a very profitable deal."
Just when Lisa was enjoying and getting comfortable bantering with her wife, Jennie slapped her with the fact that their relationship was just for a deal.
She knows it was just a deal. But why does it sounded very offensive now?
Jennie felt the thick atmosphere surrounding both of them from the truth she just stated, but she can't take it back. And since when did truth felt this wrong?
"But we can be friends, right?" Yo girl Lisa never back down easily.
"Maybe." Jennie answered repressing a smile.
"Why maybe?" Lisa's face contorted as to why Jennie had to be this hard to get.
"Stop asking. Goodnight Lisa." Jennie turned her back on Lisa leaving the latter dumbfounded.
She was just asking to be friends is it that hard? It was more offensive than her, saying that what they have is just a deal. And what is it that they have? Lisa gave up thinking and turned her back on Jennie too. She slept with a heavy heart.
--------------------
Lisa felt the warmth of the sunlight against her face, she remembered that she forgot to close the curtain. And she's not alarmed because she's sure that they would not do anything alarming. She's not even friends with the small girl who's head was on her chest clinging to her like a monkey. Not to mention their legs were tangled.
Lisa was alarmed. But she didn't want to wake the sleeping child so she just preserved the angel before it turned to Lucifer again. Hot.
Hot. But the warmth from their attached bodies make her comfortable, what more if they have no clo--did she just thought of that? Damn, I'm just a narrator here.
She slowly ease her limbs away from Jennie but the latter hold on to her tighter out of instinct. Lisa was worried that her madly beating heart would wake her wife so she tried to calm herself up to no avail.
Lisa looked at her wife's innocent face, caressing its cheek to gently removing the stray hair from its perfectly arched brows. She's so beautiful, Lisa thought.
The heart-racing view made Lisa surrender. And she didn't have the energy to hush her loudly thumping heart. So, she just lived in the moment.
For a moment, it was just her heart and her wife's soft snore wringing on Lisa's ear.
Until a freaking knock disturbed the ethereal peace.
She had no choice but to disentangle her wife from her. Out of guilt, she fixed her wife into a comfortable position and covered her with a comforter. She caressed Jennie's forehead once more and placed a soft kiss in it as a promise that she would return.
