I was in my room, thinking to myself about everything that had happened recently. It's been a month since the Aburano Koji Incident...We had successfully got Heisuke back from the Guard, but that nearly cost him his life. To save him, he had to drink the Water of Life, turning him into a fury. This led to Heisuke being declared officially dead as many rank-and-file soldiers had seen him in his mortally wounded state. Heisuke was now a member of the Fury Corps and so was confined to the Fury Corps' quarters in the Maekawa House. This meant that I could not be with him freely and since he turned I've seen him less and less. I wonder...Heisuke isn't supposed to leave the Fury Corps' quarters, but there's no written rule against me going there to visit him...! I was on my feet in a flash and already making my way to the Maekawa House. Most of the Furies had been killed during Chikage's attack, which left their quarters largely empty. I wasn't really fond of furies, but it was sad to hear that so many of them died. After all, they were all ordinary people once upon a time. Yet another thing to feel guilty about, thanks to my brother...I sighed to myself.
"Did you need something?"
"Oh!" I turned around to see Sanan standing there. "Sanan-san, you startled me..."
"Hai, well I apologise. Back to the matter at hand, I can't imagine there's anything here for you. As you can see, the Fury Corps is hardly at its best" His words were tight and cold, although it was understandable why. It couldn't be easy having most of your comrades wiped out in one battle. Especially, by the older sibling of the person standing in front of you.
"Um, gomen to bother you, but I was hoping that Heisuke was around. I wanted to speak with him"
"I see...You have interesting taste"
"Nani?"
"Although Heisuke is a fury now, that has not changed your feelings for him. I find the fact very interesting"
"Well, of course I still love him. Just because his race has changed, doesn't mean he isn't still the man I love"
"Your words are true, but for others it would not be such an easy decision"
"I guess so...?"
"Very well. I'll go find him. You wait here"
"O-Okay, arigato" He only left me standing there for a few moments before returning with Heisuke, but those moments felt like an eternity to me. I felt as if the blood of the furies who died that night hung in the air around me like a thick, wet cloud. I know it wasn't my fault, but I just can't help feeling guilty...I mean, the person responsible for all this death is my brother! The cloud seemed to thicken as my guilt grew stronger. I heard footsteps and looked up to see Heisuke causing me to let out a sigh of relief. Although, he currently had no expression on his face. Or more accurately, he had too serious an expression on his face.

"...Hey"
"Gomen if I'm bothering you" I felt like he was far away for some reason, even if he was right in front of me.
"It's no big deal...So why're you here?"
"Um...I just needed to know how you were feeling"
"Oh. Um...Well, all my wounds have healed" He directed his gaze downwards as he answered me. Why do you seem so far away Heisuke...? Is something troubling you?
"Oh, that's-" I caught myself before I said 'good'. Heisuke's injury at Aburano Koji was not something he should have survived. The only reason he was speaking to me now was because the Water of Life had done its work. While I was ecstatic that I hadn't lost Heisuke, he had become a fury. Something he was vehemently against. "Good" hardly seemed like the right word to say. "Um...Can I stay here with you for a while? Iie, not just here. And not just for a while! I'm your girlfriend and I want to stay with you as long as I can! Though, I'll leave your side if I ever get on your nerves so please let me stay!"
"Uh..." He blinked.
