Shawn Mendes
"Can I take you out tomorrow?" I asked Faith as we walked along our floor.
If I realised she was on the same floor as me I wouldn't have asked her to the roof. But I'm glad I did.
"I don't think that would be a popular decision to some people" Faith said and I knew she was referring to Camila and Andrew.
"I know. But I want to spend time with you and get to know you again" I said and she smiled.
"Really?"
"I feel awful about what happened. Let me make it up to you now?" I asked slowly and she considered for a moment before nodding.
"That would be nice. This is my room" she sighed.
"Are you in here on your own?" I asked as she opened the door.
"No. I'm not allowed. Not yet. Are you?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No. Camila is with me" I smiled.
"She's very pretty. And I owe her an apology I know" Faith sighed and I rubbed her arm.
"She feels bad."
"She shouldn't. She did nothing wrong. God I could never compete with her" she sighed, a small smile across her lips.
"What do you mean?" I asked but she quickly shook her head.
"It doesn't matter. As long as you're happy. Goodnight Shawn" she sighed slipping into her room before I could say anything more.

What did she mean compete with her?
I had no idea what she meant and I knew that it would now play on my mind.
I slipped back into my room and saw that it was six o'clock and Camila was still asleep. I sighed and got back into bed, praying I didn't wake her up.
"Where did you go?" Her groggy voice asked and I cursed myself for not being subtle enough.
"Nowhere. Just to the toilet" I lied.
"You left at four. It's now six. You weren't in the toilet for two hours." She said and I sighed.
"I just wanted to go for a walk around. Clear my head" I lied.
She sat up in bed next to me and turned to face me. I couldn't look at her.
"Is this about Faith?" She asked snd I nodded.
"I just wasn't ready to see her. She took me by surprise. I didn't know about the party but I definitely didn't expect to see her here. I thought she absolutely hated me and wanted nothing to do with me. Then she was saying about how she wants to apologise to you but also how she could never compete with you. I don't understand" I confessed and Camila shook her head.
"I will speak to her. She has nothing to apologise for, and she's beautiful but I don't understand why she feels she's competing with me" she said and I pulled her into my side. "We are together. There's no competition. Or is there?"
"What? No! No there isn't" I scoffed shaking my head.
"You sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. I love you" I smiled and kissed her quickly.
"There's something you're not telling me" she said with a frown and I sighed.
I didn't want to tell her that I had asked Faith out to dinner tomorrow. I had no idea how she would react. Yet I knew I couldn't keep it from her.
"Shawn"
"I've said that I'll take her out to dinner tomorrow. As sort of an apology"
Camila said nothing.
She grabbed the covers and turned away from me, going back to sleep.

Faith Elizabeth
New York was beautiful.
I loved just walking through the streets, the hustle and noise making it feel magical and amazing.
It felt nice being on my own for once in my life.
It took a lot of persuading mum but after Karen spoke to her she let me go.

I was sat in a quiet cafe within a library and sipped slowly on the steaming hot chocolate in front of me.
I had a book in hand and almost forgot about the world around me.
That was until the chair opposite me on my little corner table was occupied.
I slowly shifted my eyes from the words on my book to the person sat opposite me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked putting my mug down.
"Checking in" Charles shrugged and I frowned.
"With me? Why me?" I asked and he smiled.
"Can you keep a secret?" He grinned and I frowned harder at his secrecy.
A wave of anxiety crept through my body at his ambiguity.
Charles seemed like a lovely man but I also got the sense that he was a man with w lot of secrets.
"Sure"
"You're close to the target I'm surveying." He whispered and I nodded.
"Cool" I said when really I was quite scared about who his target was and what he knew.
"Don't panic. I'm just trying to look out for you" he sighed and I nodded.
"Thanks. I guess." I smiled and went back to sipping on my drink.
"Don't go out for dinner tonight" he said abruptly and I coughed on my drink so hard it made my eyes water.
"How the hell did you know I was going out?" I asked but I dared not meet his eyes.
My palms got sweaty and I felt like I couldn't focus on anything.
"He's not going to show up. He'll let you down and I don't want to see it" Charles sighed.
"I'm going. Shawn wouldn't do that"
"Just wait" he sighed before getting up and walking away from my table.

That was the strangest conversation I had ever had in my life.
I quickly finished my drink and walked back to the hotel quickly, no longer seeing the magic of the city.
