" Where were you this morning? " Marissa asks as she eats a donut from her plate.
I look up from my picture. I'm drawing it for dad. Even if he can't keep it right now, I'll find a way to get it to him. " Huh? "
" Where were you? " Mia asks a little annoyed.
I sigh happily. " Somewhere. " I'm not telling her squat.
" Do you have a boyfriend? " Rebecca asks. " You look happy. "
Everyone looks up at me. I scoff. " No. I don't have a boyfriend. I was..... seeing...someone. I went to go talk to him. "
" Him? " Natasha raises an eyebrow teasingly.
" Yes. Him. " I roll my eyes. " It's a he. "
" You talked to someone? " Tommy asks innocently as he looks up at me with food in his mouth. " I thought you hated everyone. And, Mia said you're dumb, you look ridiculous, and you're ugly. "
" Thomas. " Steve warns. " That was not very nice. Apologize to Aura this minute. "
" Sorry Aura. I was just repeating what Mia said. " Tommy points to Mia.
" Emilia Lilliana Starks. What you said was not okay. Apologize, and give me your phone, laptop, and anything else that's electronic. " Tony says angrily to his daughter.
I stare at the girl. Mia. I mean, I know she's mean, but I didn't think she'd say anything to me behind my back like that. She's never said anything straight out like that.
" But dad-" Mia starts to complain.
" No Mia. Give me your phone. You are grounded. " Tony says a little red from embarrassment and anger.
" Fine. " Mia tosses her phone onto the table. Everyone's dead silent, waiting to see how I react.
Mia folds her arms and glares at me. " Sorry Aura. " She mumbles something that causes her dad to glare at her.
" I don't need your apology, Emilia. " I nod. " I appreciate your honesty. If that's how you think of me, that's how you think of me. " I push my food away. There's an awkward silence I'm using for dramatic effect. I stand up and don't bother to push in my chair. " At least you're honest. " I take a breath and clutch my fists together. I hear someone's breath hitch. " For once in your fricken life. " Anger bubbles in me. Why am I the one always getting pushed around? Why? Just because my dad's an imprisoned God. Ugh. I hate mortals sometimes. " You think you can go around, bullying me? " I ask. " Well, sorry to disappoint you, princess. No. " The chair behind me clatters to the ground and Mia looks at me shocked, along with everyone else.
THIRD PERSON P.O.V.
Aura stands up and a rush of cold wind hits everyone at the table. " You think you can go around bullying me? " Blue and red lights of fire and ice swirl around her clutched hands. " Well, sorry to disappoint you, princess. No. "
Aura's eyes snap open. Blue and red swirls gleam in her pupils. " I, I can't take this from you. Not any more. " Her chair crashes to the ground, and she storms off, leaving trails of burnt ground and frozen flakes falling behind her.
She's nothing like any of them has ever seen before. Not even her uncle, Thor, has seen another god as powerful as her.
One thing's for certain. Aura isn't letting anyone get away with messing with her. And the Avengers need to get the girl into training.
