" Aura. Time to get up. " I flip my body over so my back faces Uncle Thor. " Aura, you are going to be late for school. Come on. Get up. " He gently nudges my shoulder.
I groan. " Leave me alone. "
" School. Get up and get ready. Now. " Uncle Thor leaves my room and I growl. I throw a pillow at my closed door and huff. I hate school. I hate a lot of things. Is it normal to hate a lot of things? What am I kidding? I'm not normal. Not even close. How many teenage girls do you know that are kids of the god of mischief, killed two men, threatened the main dude of S.H.E.I.L.D., and have powers? None. Nada.
I get up and grumpily get up. I change into my clothes. I grumble to myself as I walk out of my room. " Good morning. " Chase says smiling at me as I walk into the kitchen.
" Hey. " I nod at him and walk to the fridge. I pull out some milk and make myself a bowl of cereal.
" Are you guys ready to go? " Natasha asks as she swings her keys around.
" Does it look like I'm ready? " I ask sighing. " I don't want to go. "
" Well, I'm sorry. You have to go. Educations im-"
" Important. Yeah yeah. I know. I've only been told thirty thousand times. " I grumble.
" Let's go. " Natasha says ignoring my comment.
I slouch as I put on my backpack and follow after all the kids to the car. I sit next to Chase during the car ride.
I close the door after everyone leaves the car. I hurry to my class before the bell rings.
" Today I want everyone to write a paper about their parents. I want to know what your parents do for a living, and how they started their job. We are going to be studying different careers and I think learning a bit about your parents' jobs will help us see better. " Miss Jones, one of my teachers says smiling. " Open your chrome books and get working. "
This is going to be one heck of a long day.
