Complicated Miracle

Uncle/Niece Talk Chapter 31

I cry into my pillow, squeezing the life out of a stuffed dog. The one Uncle Thor gave me the day he took me. I sob harder with tears blocking my vision. I hate this. 

What have I done to people? What makes them hate me? My dad has to be a good actor if he can fake loving me for this long. How did I not notice it before? I thought he loved me. 

It was all lies. 

There's a knock at my door. I don't reply. 

" Aura? Are you alright? " Uncle Thor says softly. 

I nod but the tears obviously betray me. Uncle Thor pulls me into a hug. " Oh my. " He mutters as he hugs me tightly. " It's okay. It is alright darling. " 

" He di-didn't want m-me. He doesn't w-want me. " I mumbled through tears. 

Uncle Thor's eyed widen. " Before! Only before! He fell in love with you Aura. You are his daughter. He loves you. He just, he was just confused and scared at the time. Your father does love you. He really loves you. You dug your way into his heart. It still confuses your grandfather, my father, how you had managed to steal Loki's heart. He broke into tears when he saw you again. He was so happy to see you. You have no idea. He, he just wanted someone to love him. He did not even no at the time he wanted that. And, you showed him you loved him no matter what he did. He loves you Aura. " My Uncle says in a soft voice. " You changed him. 

" But, he sent me away. " 

" He didn't know what he was doing. I can assure you, he would do anything he could to get you back now. He loves you very much. When I used to visit you a lot, before Ryan was born, all he would talk about is you. You are the highlight of his life. The only thing that got him out of bed every day. " 

" H-how do you know he hasn't changed his mind about me? " I ask looking up at my blonde uncle. 

" I talked to him. He loves you very much Aura. What he did was a mistake, like you said before. He made a mistake. And he paid for it. While you were gone, he missed you a lot. He was going crazy without you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to your father. " Uncle Thor reassures me. 

" Really? " 

" Really. You are the light of his entire world. " 

I wipe away a tear. " I'm sorry. F-for how I've been acting. I, I just miss daddy. I want my daddy. " I sob again. Uncle Thor rubs my back. 

" I know. I know. " 

" I can't do this anymore. I want my dad. " 

" I am trying to get Fury to do something about that. " 

" You are? "
